Well, I agree with that, but if you do not, then how would you get the vacuum to draw that pressure out? Do one of those exhaust setups with a narrow pipe that runs into the exhaust, and run the line to it? I've heard of turbo people doing something like this. Can't remember if it was a catch can or not though.

There are lots of folks who dont seem to need the vacuum draw. One thing I notice is some breathers incorporate a drain that goes back to the engine, which, depending on the application, I dont prefer either. On those certain applications, the oil thats in the catch tank is nasty stuff (mostly mixed with liquid).

I think if you have adequate size hoses (like -10an or larger) and you have enough of them going to a breather tank, you're good to go.

So is it okay to run the line from the existing port (near the oil cap) to the catch can then to the back of the block?

There must be different scenarios for different types of catch cans, and for what your intentions are.

A catch can without a breather on top must serve a different purpose than a catch can w/out a breather.

I'm pretty sure that you want it pulling from the top and bottom at all times. This prevents blow by and blown seals. I'm very curious about the whole breather filter aspect of it though. To me, having a breather on it would make it even less effective than the stock setup with a filter on the valve cover.

I see some people just running it from there PCV nipple(existing nipple on VC) to catch can- catch can to intake arm... Or PCV nipple to catch can then catch can to intake manifold.

I also see some people tapping there VC with new nipples and running lines to the back of the block using P/N 11107-pk2-003...

So im really not sure what to use.... Or whether to use a breather style or just a can style with steel wool... LOST!

There is something like an ultimate catch can thread in the all motor forum i believe. And for pics of custom set ups, the fabrication forum has a thread devoted to catch cans as well.

Hahaa... Nicks the one who got me worried in the first place, telling me that rpf1's wouldnt fit over his wilwood setup.

I bought the calipers and milled brackets a while ago (from BrakeExpert) using 91 Ex rotors.
I have herd of people using these calipers(or accord wagon calipers) and running with a stock 14" steelie but not a stock crx si rim. So now I wanted to make sure I dont purchase some rpf1's and they dont fit!

Hmmmm, I think they might. Lemme check. I know a HC racer in the bay who runs a "larger" OEM brake set-up on his car with RPF1s, but I remember he had to shave his calipers some. They might have been ITR calipers?

Are you running 11" rotors? If you are just running the ex rotors (10.2" right?) then you should be fine. My pops runs EM1 knuckles/brakes and his RPF1's fit snugly over those calipers.

ok cool. yeah u should be fine with the 10.2" brakes, might have to run a small wheel spacer to clear the larger calipers tho

Thanks! I'm not running the 11" rotors, Si knuckles(stock), 91 EX rotors(powerslot), Type R calipers with the milled brackets.
I guess the only real way to find out is to just buy em' and see... hope I don't have to shave the caliper, just powder coated them.

Vega congrats on the new addition to the family.

Congrats to the guys putting the power and mods to the tracks, always the smart choice.

Seems I may have found a buyer for the civic, friend of mine who wanted to trade the Tundra. Turns out he still owed, so he's just gonna buy the civic. I still have parts and pieces for sale guys, hit me up so I can clear some stuff out.

thanks

But I'm once again @ a loss.

I really don't know what I should do.
If I part out my hatch with all the things listed on my for sale thread I can put a hefty down on a 08 Impreza 2.5 hatchback. Make payment to pay the CAR OFF and still be able to keep the hatch.

-OR-

Lease the Impreza for 36-48 months how ever long it is and then after the lease is up put a down and purchase it.

I had the 11" rotors with the EX knuckles and Accord Wagon calipers on my old rex. I was able to run 99 civic si wheels on it with no problem. I know the current owner (nihkon on here) purchased a set of ssr type c's in a +43 or +44 (can't remember) offset and he had to install spacers to clear.
