weight savings.
if a CF hood is brand new, i could see why to keep it like it is, glossy.
but when it dulls and starts to look doo-doo.... color match it! my old hood would have never been shiny again, so i just painted over it.

Make sure you're sanding with a sanding block...the gel coat on that hood is definitely toast though. Even if you had a buffer I'm sure it's already burned through or darned close in certain places.
Time for a re=clear or color match
I'm just wondering why the UV stabilizers seem to deteriorate so rapidly

Yeah I was hoping the tree would provide some shade but I was wrong and didn't feel like waiting.

Yeah I've already waxed it before without the sun beating on my car and it still dries out super fast.

Yeah I'm defenitley gonna buy a sanding block tomorrow and at least make an attempt to try and save my hood but it defenitley needs a re-clear. What I'm doing now is like putting a band-aid on a chopped off finger

I had it laying around so I figured I'd give it a shot. Plus I'm trying to not spend a lot of money or trying to refurbish an already dying CF hood

I am all for selling the Fit. I would buy an EM1 for the daily though, and build an EF. Either that or buy two crxes, one for a daily and a built one.

I don't follow. I've hated fits since day one, I don't think I ever changed my stand on that. Actually I think when Ryan first was looking at one, I told him to buy an NSX instead in the old EF thread. I guess Ryan should of listened to me would of saved him some cash.

i dont think he lost any money. in fact, the prices for fits have went up. i paid $12.9 for mine and its valued at around $18k. keep in mind i barely hit 6,000 miles on it and have owned it for almost a year.
