Oh, I see. I was just confused. You parted out the CRX and sold everything to get something practical for the unborn baby. It just doesn't seem like the S2K fits the bill. *shrug*

That was what i was thinking.... but then i remembered how easy it is to make assumptions about people on the other side of the country, of whom you have never met before. I guess we all have different meanings of practicality

Its obvious it was all BS. It can be very entertaining to read people's "reason for sale" though.

I actually understand Joe's thinking. He had to sell a "Project" car. The project kept taking money away from other things because he still wasnt done by a long shot according to his list.
So instead of throwing more at it to get it done just to get it done and also take time away from what's going on - he sold it. And all it's parts.
That netted him enough cash to pick up something to still have fun with, but that he could just get in and drive. It didn't NEED anything to just drive it (of course it'll get modded in time) but when he wants.
He still ahd the Fit and the Accord right? Plus, I bet Joe got that S2 for some sick *** discount.
Either way, I may be wrong and I am in no way speaking for him - but that was what i understood. I'd do the same because if I didnt at least have 1 'fun' car, even my wife knows I'd go postal.

If you read my many explainations you would see the practicality.
I sold the crx and parts for waaay more than i spent on the s2ooo. i was able to buy furniture and paint for the nursery and get the house ready with what i had sold. i was dumping $1000 here and $2000 there into the crx every payday and it still wasnt running. i wanted another $15000 worth of parts and paint to have it "finished" to my liking. i spent less than that on the s2000 which is running already. even if the crx was 100% finished and i was able to drive and race it, it wouldnt have been practical for daily driving. 3" exhaust and itb's sticking out of the hood would alert the local cops and thieves alike. and i dont see me going to the race track every weekend like i orignally planned.
so, getting out of a money pit that i would never be able to drive or enjoy and buying a running car for much less money than it was gonna cost me to finish the crx sounds pretty practical to me and many others that i explained it to.
i have a few thousand extra too. going to buy my wife some new clothes this weekend and some decorations for the nursery.

Cool, glad to see we think along the same lines, lol.
Hey was it Bart or Toad that did the Electric Life Power window kit? If you could chime in, would the kit work on a ef civic as well? Reason I ask is that it specifies crx, but I would assume that mounting is similar enough for it to work?

It was me. I assume you could make it work. It is designed for an 88 style door. I believe you have to mod it for 89-91. It's simple though just drill a hole iirc. Also I have put 89 crx window regulators in 90-91 hatches. So given the adaptability I have already done amongst window crap, I think it would work. I have never actually put them into a hatch though so it might not work, but I feel it probably would.

anyone have a spare working (possibly mint) usdm 91 civic gague cluster...mine didnt like the momentary surge from the 50 amp battery charger when i put it on the wrong setting
The hatchie is 89 if it helps, but yeah, I kinda figured it should be able to swap in, the civic just has this generic PW setup and I want to get rid of it.
Funny thing is my father in law used to sell these generic kits, so i have an extra set to replace the broken ones for now so I can at least open and close the windows, but I dont want to keep them long term.

I am guessing it would work with little or no mods. A 89 hatchie window reg should be almost identical to an 88 CRX. Ironically I sell generic power window kits. I would never put one in my car though. We have a spal kit sitting on the shelf next to me. JUNK!

posting to show CBEengineering. but if anyone else can help that would be awesome. the plastic bushing or spacer in my steering rack broke and fell out. i cant find a place that stocks a rebuild kit or the bushing for it.

pandarex- id just replace the rack. i dont know of anyone who makes those. the external rack bushings are easy to come by.
EDIT: i found a couple of rack rebuild kits online but they were pricey
you could easily replace the whole rack cheaper than they were

lol
EDIT i can do all that and i cant put the charger on the right setting....im doing too much lately....work/car owns me
