The Official EF Discussion Thread
So I was driving my car the other day and heard some weird clunking sound coming from under the hood when I was engaging the clutch pedal. The shifter was moving too..."Wtf?". Pop'd the hood and looked around for a bit and noticed my tranny mount was separated from the tranny!!! The bolts (all three) must of backed themselves out because I know I torqued those bitches down.
Anyone hear have experience rebuilding a caliper??
I'm going to buy the oem piston seals but i was having a hard time putting the seal on "the right way"
if so hit me up i have a $5 helper fee for you.

Ok. This was good. The WOT bog went away today. Me thinks I have a loose wire somewhere...
I really want to go to this track day, but alas I need a spare set of wheels/tires.

What would you guys do? So my friend has this dc2r cali registered shell... its $1,000 perfect shape, has interior, just no seats, engine, and front end (hood, lights, bumper), and is repainted yellow on the outside only (was champ white). I have no room for it... it would have to sit in the driveway, but it would always block a car that needs to move. Im thinking of passing on it, but its like I just cant!!! Its a ricers dream car, and its cheap! Storage is like 220 a month here in the bay, and there is a slight possibility that I can keep it at my mothers house, but its kinda a long shot. What can I do....

might as well try to keep it. if it doesnt work out, sell it for more and move on. if it does work out, dominate the dc era of cars also.

Can you guys tell i am frustrated with my projects

Good luck tough decision
rebuilding calipers is pretty easy. you HAVE to make sure the piston is going in perfectly straight. we use a C clamp with the caliper in the vise. .
lube it up like crazy with brake fluid, make sure the bore is perfectly smooth too.

On another note, here is the part out thread for the wagon. It's a little sad to see her end this way, but only the front passenger side door will open.
26 or so pics in the thread.
I'm at a crossroads. Do I keep my vtec pr4 obd1 ecu that's setup to run crome, or do I convert it to Hondata s300?
Are all OBD-1 ecu connectors the same? i.e. a pr4 setup like mine to a p30 etc will just plug right up, or would repinning be an issue.
I like the reviews of Hondata and how everyone says it always works and is much more user friendly. Steer me back to Crome if you like I don't mind. I just can't get over paying a few hundred bucks to have Crome working up to a level of what S300 would do.

I actually showed up at the lot to buy that wagon in the summer of '07, but I looked over my left shoulder for some reason and noticed the sedan. It was the same price, but had 70k fewer miles and was in better shape. It's strange my sister-in-law bought that car a few months later and even stanger I ended up owning it anyway.

I've got a couple questions.
1) What is a functioning climate control worth? I recall selling the one from my hatch for cheap, then kicking myself because I didn't realize they break for people all the time and I could have got more.
2) You may recall my cat problem. For unknown reasons, my sedan has a 2 hole inlet and 2 hole outlet cat. The cat-back requires a 3 holes outlet. I can use the cat from the wagon, but on that car the exhaust manifold comes all the way back to the 16" or so cat. On my sedan the exhaust manifold comes down to an "A pipe" section 6" or 8" long, then the cat, totalling 24" or so. My question is, do the cheap aftermarket D series headers come all the way back to the cat, or do they utilize that annoying 6"-8" section? I'm trying to avoid paying a muffler shop to weld a new flange on there if I can just use the stock cat from the wagon that already has the flange and buy a Kamakazi or DC replica header.
