I got my front and rear bumper disassembled. About half of the bolts holding the lips on snapped in half, thanks to 16+ years of rust. That's ok, though, it's all getting replaced with new stuff. I started sanding the paint off as well. I figured I could get the bumpers/fenders/hood/lip/mirrors/sideskirts/etc prepped for paint while Mickey works on the fab.

I went by the shop yesterday, he's got the main hoop done and he started on the fuel cell fab. I'm having him drop the sump of the fuel cell below the floor where the spare tire used to be. Once that's done, he's making an aluminum cover for it, with a fuel door, so it's safe/legal. I'll get some pics this week.

But atleast we try to get something done. I use ht for ideas for my car, my hobby. Myspace is just a place for people to network that really lack purpose in life.

I have plenty of friends, and I'm married, so I don't have any reason to be on myspace.

Thats what i was thinking when B.C. made his comment. Whatever time is saved by not selling out on myspace is quickly wasted on this thread.

No ef progress for me today, sidework painting $$

Mr_Crx that flange looks serious, what turbine are you planning on running and what series motor? V-band ftw

True, this and maybe a couple other threads i visit through out the day. I mostly do it while im in lab waiting for something to dry/react/heatup or cool off. Another reason i tossed my myspace was i was too tempted to look at the exs page just after we broke up. Nothing tears you up inside as seeing your girl of 4 years posting pic of her and her new "man" making out .

The old one was 24 living at home with no goals or directions and stupid as ****. New one, 22 just graduated with teaching degree and similar goals to mine

It's just a semi-built B-series.. Turbonetics t3/t4 off a Drag kit. Nothing too special, just want to make as much power as I can with it. Came across a nice deal on that flange, so I had to scoop it up

Myspace just bores me. I'm not into networking and I dont need more friends, lol! Besides I already waste enough time at work on this site let alone another site.

They really arent as hard to build as they look. I can build a Blackhawk APU in a night by myself form scratch. The larger engines take a bit longer but its not that hard. Its all about attention to detail that sets a good mechanic apart from a bad one, at least where I work anyway.

With a Honda engine you forget one thing and the most it will cost is a few grand, in a turbine if you forget something even as mundane as an O-ring and it will cost at least 10 grand, or depending on what it is you can grenade the entire engine. Even when an engine fails test for some small thing like a faulty fuel control it costs the company around 3K because it costs $1500 everytime we test an engine.

My biggest mistake was trying to press a rotor shaft out of a compressor wheel while it was too hot. I scrapped both parts which costed around $5000. Management didnt care because I easily offset that cost by being one of the fastest mechanics in the shop.

i was gonna say if it was real serious it would have been v-band right off the turbo...

Yeah, that flange bolts onto the exhaust housing of the turbo.. Are you talking about a welded v-band flange on the turbo?

Tial makes a compressor house that has a v band on the exhaust port and inlet port (where it connects to the manifold)
