You also remove the entire locking mechanism from the door handle area, eliminating anything that would allow someone to slimjim the door from that area.

Add some power door lock actuators, and youre set. It looks really clean, and keeps your paint looking nicer since you're not fumbling around the rest of your keys around the door handle area.

I finally found out why my civic wouldnt start. I kept thinking it was an electrical issue with the distributor but it turns out this is what happened-

I already ordered a timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and valve cover gasket kit. It should be interesting changing all this stuff out in my apartment driveway without air tools!

Use a breaker bar on the crank nut and wedge it against the frame. Bump your starter to get it loose. No air tools

I was thinking of buying the crank pulley tool so I have it for future use. I dont mind spending money on tools since they pretty much last forever. I also need to get a digital timing light.

Just go get a chain wrench. Looks like vice grips witha chain on it. It's what I use to get my pulley loose.

Do you guys think my valves are bent from losing the timing belt? I have never had this happen to me before so I have know idea. I know Honda engines are interference engines so might be screwed! I was only around 3000rpm when it happened but since I thought it was the distributor I cranked it over alot to check different distributors.

Do a compression test, i had my intake cam advance 90 degree when i ripped mine, i was at 5k 10 psi, but i blew my engine from detonation but the valves where fine.

Yeah I guess there is no way to know unless I put the new timing belt on and check compression or just pull the head and inspect it that way. I think I will just try the new belt and see what's up. If its good then I saved some money on a new headgasket but if I pull the head then I will for sure have to buy the new gasket whether the valves are bent or not.

good possibility that nothing happend if you were able to shut it off right away, but also considering the possiblity of valves hitting the piston, its best to just pull it off and check.
While you can put the timing belt to do the compression test, you dont know what damage its done to teh piston. with valves hitting the piston, its possible it could have hit it enough to give force down on the piston and damage the bearings and causing play. best to pull the head out, press down on the pistons to see if there is any play and damage to the top of the piston.

A compression test won't take much work so I suggest doing that. However you could still be screwed.
