this happened to a friend of mine and he just put on another timing belt and it started right up. He sold it shortly after but it ran and drove fine *shrug*

IT almost happened to me once time with my old D15B2. Water pump froze up and stripped most of the teeth off the belt but left about 1/4" of teeth on it. I barely made it home.

I'm going to just throw the new belt on and see what the compression is. If the numbers are good than at least I didnt waste the $60-$70 on a new head gasket. I know I should pull the head, that would be the right way to do it but right now I dont have the time or money. If the valves are trashed then I might have to start driving the crx daily!

How do you know what size AN fitting something is? My friends oil return line is busted and he needs a new hose, but is unsure of the size of the fitting.

hate to side bust but.. i'd say you go with transtar primer surfacer. its the only stuff i use, the best IMO. its about 140 for a gallon with reducers

yeah complete w/reducer n hardener around 140. i think the ratio is 4:1:1 @ 10%it blocks out real good and sticks well. but you also cant beat 70 bucks

i dont like any thing like sealers/primers that require a reducer.....cause sometimes you dont know the quality of the stuff you are spraying over and ive had those systems make the paint on there lift.........(yes it was mixed right) urban tank can vouch for that...painting a harley gas tank and the sealer that the paint shop gave up was just reduced....tack coat and the whole tank lifted

aww hella wack.. prepping again to spray such a bummer. was there an etching primer lightly sprayed before the primer surfacer?

nope it lifted the surfacer..and the stock harley paint IIRC....it was a lowquality (omni-offshoot of PPG) GP sealer...no hardener just reducer...so I threw it out...i just use a non sanding epoxy primer now
