Not unless you wire it to work with a cluster that takes a reading from electric VSS (DC, EG, EK cluster); more importantly to you James, it'll work with an SiR cluster. Funny story, I told my friend who also frequents the site and board how you'd never redlined and he giggled

Very true, but where's the fun in that? I can't wait until Dustin's gets that bezel done. He's mastering a new c/k fab technique. I converted to CRX dash so I can run the S2K cluster. It won't fit a hatch dash very well.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CBEengineering &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">theres something up with the S2k cluster and the watertemp? idunno i was looking to put one in my EJ1 something about the values dont match on one of the sensors?? i dunno which one it was but it was confusing and a member on here made a converter for it to work</TD></TR></TABLE>

The speedometer needs a converter to work correctly. I don't know about the watertemp, I was just going to run an aftermarket gauge for that anyway. The converter and plugs make it expensive.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by CBEengineering &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">oh and you said you were getting a GSR right....you dont need a wiring harness

you have a z6 right with a Si harness prolly? with a p28

just put a intake manifold on the GSR...Skunk 2

and then chip the p28 for the gsr

only thing different than a b16 say is the the IM.</TD></TR></TABLE>

yeah z6 with modified DX wiring harness to obd-1

the whole wiring harness thing is a question within a question.
Here is the thread of the guy I'm getting it from. It appears he was having problems wiring it up himself which is why he is selling it:

This is a quote from the seller not me:

Swap in a nutshell:
No leaks, good compression, never got it running because of small missing parts. Ran out of money during build and have to go back to school before summer so I have to sell.

Cliff notes: EX wiring harness would not work with the plugs

Parts included:
OBD2 99' GSR head, OBD2 99' GSR transmission, OBD2 99' GSR intake manifold + obd1 injectors installed for obd1 transition and OBD1 GSR distributor. OBD1 GSR block, OBD1 GSR ECU, stock exhaust manifold with crack, Cheapbay GSR header, valve cover, shift linkage, mounts, rear mount bracket, all hoses and pipes (block passage coolant pipe), GSR shift ****.

What the swap needs to run:
OBD1 GSR harness. This isn't an exception. People bullshitted me about using an EX harness and the bottom line is, it doesn't work. It won't cleanly plug into the distributor or the head. The reason an EX harness won't work is because of the head and distributor. For some reason they're just not made to work together.
IAT Sensor. This I can probably get for free for the buyer. Typerman2001 said he would send it to me for $5 shipped but I hardly EVER check this site so I never check my PM's in time. This sensor I've also been told by a Honda mechanic will make it VERY hard to start the motor without. If your motor has been running for a while and well, you can get away without it, but not a motor that's been sitting for months and is freshly rebuilt.
Knock sensor. Not a big deal, you can bypass it and still have secondary VTEC, but you'll want this if you want to be BAR'd.

I have a Type R distributor on the b16 that i plan on taking off
But like he was saying it has a obd-2 head on it. Does that matter in plugs??

$175 for converter and I got the plugs from Ryan for $80. Clusters used to be available for fairly cheap ($125-$150), but they are a lot more now.

no the heads physically are the same, the distributors however are different for OBD-1 to OBD-2...but since it comes with a obd-1 dist and your harness is OBD-1 you are good....
