We can talk suspension and brakes. What exactly is involved, in layman's (sp?) terms, as far as machining for the 5 lug conversion. Don't dare link me to the EF/DA 5 lug swap page.

Is it true the 4x114 doesn't require machining? (Yes, I know the brakes aren't any bigger.)

actually if you went 4x114 you could use the vtec prelude rotor or 96 spec Jdm type R rotor and accord station wagon calipers, or itrs or legend GS or nsx

I dont think you'd have to machine anything just use CRV hubs
dont know if the ID of the DA to the civic wheel bearing is any different but I know you can do that on the later model civics?

just get some crv hubs mic the outer diameter of the hub compare to the hub you have and blam.

the splines on the axles are the same I guess ?
edit they arent youd have to use ITR or CRV out-er CVs

I was actually sitting in my car on my way home from work repeating it to myself trying to figure what the hell I was talking about

depends on what tranny you are putting it on to... D/B/K?

wouldnt really matter just use what axles youd regularly use with the engine you have and put the out-ers on them or if you ca find some axles that correspond with the length you need for chassis/ tranny combo and have the ITR/CRV sized (believe its 36mm?) out-er cv just use them

i guess i really dont know never done it just figuing from combos that i know work.......i might try it one day.

but the only thing it would get you is a larger selection of "bolt on" rotors with the 11" diameter and more wheel studs to replace.....looks a little better but not really noticable to me

im guessing the CRV hub is the same thing?

so a CRV axle is the same thing as a ITR axle only a lil longer (from a different thread)

ive read a couple threads, (and i got schooled on this along time ago) about using a type r tranny and they were saying that they needed ITR axles.

the inner joint is the same on all B series trannies

nooooooo. this is the worst way possible to achive this.....plus it changes the effective off set of your hub/wheel.
well i guess you could get new wheels with a different offset cause you are changing bolt patterns....but they are still stupid and they break

open the cluster up, theres 3 or 4 screws that hold the spedometer in the cluster.
it takes forever but you can move the cluster up/down to where you need it......
but its in KMH so the gears in it are different and it will move up in KMH not miles right?

yeah but, i was going to convert my milage to kilometers and plug that into the cluster.

My car is back on the road after 6 months of not driving her! I still have to fix the sides, paint the moldings, and wet sand the whole car and then its on to polishing.

Last teaser pic before completion-
