exactly. r/s isnt a big deal. personal expericence - titan motorsports supra. 3.2 liter stroked 2JZ.... 11,000rpms

think they give a **** about r/s?

thats just something that some honda guy thought up and everyone latched onto it.

naturally aspirated set ups need vacuum to make any power. longer stroke = more potential for vacuum. in laymans terms it means since youre not blowing air into the motor you need a motor that is better at "sucking" air in. the longer stroke the better.

the guys that are killing it iwth the K are actually running 105mm strokes. search for a couple inline pro threads.

if you wanna rev till your ***** fall off thats one thing just dont think that is the secret to power.

i could go on but basically engines do not make horsepower. that is a calculation we use. torque + rpms = power. im jsut brainstorming a little but what you should take from this is that one key is to increase stroke and rpms, which pushes the torque curve up thus increasing hp.

formula 1 cars run a ONE INCH stroke. but they have the luxury of increasing the amount of cylinders (8-10) where as we are stuck with 4.

Not at all, whats your plans to get it down?

From k20a.org

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by nikos &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Hello everyone,

Due to some very interesting developments recently, I feel the need to share this with all of you. These past few years, through the research and development of K series motors, we have all seen that the 300 whp mark is not as hard as it used to be but requires special parts working together etc… Most of the spotlight has been on the K20a motor and the 99mm stroke of the k24a block etc.. The ‘NON VTEC” k24a stock motor has not been given too much attention because of the ‘non vtec” head that utilizes one lobe cams and no variable cam timing… Basically, I am talking about the stock motors out of the US 4 cylinders Accords, CRVs, elements. These are the motors we usually dissect in order to mate the block with some k20a2 or tsx head etc…

There have been a few head porters like Brad from RLZ for example, that did flowbench the Accord head and found that in stock form ,it flows almost as good as a really well ported B series head… But that is pretty much all the info we had on these heads and motors… Well until now…

Because of my k20a.org forum , I have been lucky to have developed contacts in the Honda related industry.. Some of these people are closer than others but overall, sometimes I get to hear about projects or news that most people do not hear about.. So I cannot disclose my source, because I really value my relationship with other manufacturers and I do not wish to put that in jeopardy. So please just take it as what it is.

Project begun with a bone stock k24 accord engine which baselined at 165hp/160tq on an engine dyno.

With ecu tuning and a custom header it made 195whp .

With type-s intake manifold, type-s T-body and custom cam (to be produced at some point) it made 230whp

Then they ported the head and milled it .040 for more compression and made 250hp (at 7200rpm) and 200+ TQ . Stock pistons with shallow relief, in fact stock bottom end including the oil pump with balance shafts and stock valve springs.

So here it is… Thanks for reading!

Nikos

PS There are almost 1.5 million of these motors on American roads today.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The SiR rear bumper helps with no bumper support. It has no radio so no speakers/wiring, no a/c and no heater core so no climate control/wiring for that, no p/s, no int panels, no carpet. I haven't got to it yet, but the interior and motor harness will be stripped of all unnecessary wiring, that'll save about 20lbs. I'm going to hole saw some of the non-structural areas. I'm running a fuel cell, so no oem tank or lines. Basically, the interior will be two seats, steering wheel, and a dash shell. Even the under side of that is gutted. When I'm going to be in this car, it's going to be for a reason, to drive it. It'll be raw, loud, uncomfortable, and down to business. I've got DDs for comfort and amenities.

Eventually I'll focus on unsprung weight, the worst kind, with suspension/wheel parts.

just put door panels in it. the inside of those tin cans isnt something you wanna be up against or something you want to have to grab onto to shut the door.

Well I never said I wanted to use the revs for power. I just prefer driving a car with the rev capability, as opposed to torque. The 2.0L aren't exactly lacking in the torque department anyway.

I'm not implying that it's impossible to do it, it just adversely affects the reliability and longevity of the motor. If I'm going to invest $4-5k in a motor, it's going to last. I'm not one to blow them and rebuild, or blow one, buy another. That's all I'm saying.

I've heard that for every 100lbs you remove you essentially "gain" 1hp or something like that. I'm guessing you can't remove more the 150-200lbs from an EF, but I've never tried it.

there are little tricks and ways around making a stroked motor run.

little tidbit. on the b18c5 which is a 9k motor even from honda the the rod bearings are one size smaller on the rod cap (bottom) side.

some peeps say this creates a sort of extra cushion...

screw it lets jsut talk about tail lights and tow hooks and the stuffed animals people hang from them.

boostedchemist, what do you consider the proper angle to turn your front wheel when backed into a parking spot at the movie theater when picking up 16 yr olds?

First off, any grown man (age&gt;17) should not own stuff animals unless it was a meaning full gift from a gf, dead parent ect. Second of all nobody should hang this animal off their car and think its cool. If you do (i know its your car) your a flaming homo. Bottom line. I cant stand that ****, whats next , keeping a purse in your car because its hot?

I try to take up 3 spots, its hard in a crx but after years of practice ive mastered it. I like the arctan of my angle to end up around 1.5-1.75 lol.

I wonder how much my ef weighs. I added the b16a turbo setup but ditched all the ac crap and using a fullrace x member. I need to find a scale.

The girdle on the 2.0 is superior and allows it to be stable at an extremely high rpm. The rod bearings are, perhaps, the weakest link in the bottom end. With just cams/valve train, you've got yourself a motor that's good for 10k rpms and near OEM Honda reliability. That appeals to me, not as much as tow hooks, but appealing, nonetheless.

I think 100lbs equates to a tenth of a second in the quarter mile. That's what I've heard, but there's too many variables for that to be very accurate.

I decided I'm going to start collecting Honda keychains. I've got a couple real old school ones at home. That reminds me, I need to go pick my watch up today. They ordered me a Fossil Honda watch when I took delivery of the Fit, I can't wait to see it.
