You're talking about me selling my CRX? I have an 96 integra for my daily, and my new project is an 88 HF.
... Quest for Nisei
No one in the CRX/EF Civic forum is able to help, so I figured I'd post this up in here:
I am in the process of converting over to the b-pillar mounted seatbelt setup. I got a set of '88 Si seat belts from someone online. When they showed up, I discovered that the belts are retracted into the seat belt mechanism and they won't pull back out.
The responses that I got in the CRX /EF Civic forum were to bolt it in, and it would work. They couldn't say WHY, but they all confirmed that bolting them in the car would make them work.
Well, I bolted them into the car and they still won't pull back out of the seat belt mechanism.
Does anyone have any ideas?

this answer is so so simple.
bolt them in the car and take them to honda. honda= lifetime warranty on seat belts.
are you keeping 89+ doors? if you go to 88 doors you have to "massage" the door jamb

They have to be at the right angle for them to come out. Whatever degree it is I don't know. Rotate them little by little and try to pull on them.

Lol. . .I wonder if Honda would even humor me with the seat belt warranty since I'm putting them in a different year car?
I'm keeping the 89+ doors for now. Eventually I'll change them to 88 though. What massaging needs to be done? (I know you mentioned it a bunch of pages ago, but I'm not about to go searching for it.)

I dont think you have to do very much at all if you are putting 88 style doors on 90-91 style car... I think you just have to remove the 2 pin bracket thinga majjiggga on the upper part of the door jamb.......
but if you are doing the other way around ...90-91 style in an 88...huh... both door and door jamb will need alot of modification...ALOT...

vin number.
i used to work for honda..... on ALL safety equipment, they work off of the vin.
edit: especially for warranty parts.
#1 they would give you the parts for the vin number.
#2 they would need to install them at the dealership, because its warranty work.
but
#3 if you know a parts employee, he could fudge it up and hook you up. PM me.
