Me too!
So. Here's my situation. I've got the lil yellow crx looking nice, fun to drive, runs like a champ. In top notch condition too. Cold a/c, near perfect interior and exterior. I drive it only in small distances right now ( school full time )
The motor is original, using a I/H/E it's fun, whatever. Despite it being fun, the power bug is looming. I don't have the money to do anything to it now, but let's say a year from now I have 4-5k to drop into it again.
This is all assuming I get a decent job post college
I think the route I want to go is a reinforced d series that'll give me a long time of fun. Na or turbo or s/c as long as ac stays I'm fine. I like the idea of the d16 that's in it now, but revamped and upgraded. Keep it old skool the way it came I think. Want some ideas. Don't respond B series unless you're used to owning one for quite some time.
& k can't have a/c as far as i know

Small turbo setup, retain the A/C

turbo d is cool. cheap hp. what about supercharger? they can run 8 psi, and have a very linear powerband. i have a b16 in my hatch. i love being n/a, but don't like not having any torque. i'm doing a b18c bottom with my b16 head. the whole thing will be about 2 grand
my bud had one in is 91 si. it was damn quick! not any more $ than a turbo, and far less things to go wrong. i'm all n/a, but if i ever go boost, i'd go s/c. i like to keep it simple

I'm kinda looking that direction too</TD></TR></TABLE>
turbo doesnt require and extra maintence, just change your oil and make sure your plugs are fresh.
I would get a nice straight t3, maybe a drag manifold (cheep) and an ebay intercooler. DIY your piping and run turboedit, i bet it could all be done under 800 bucks

imo it clutters up the engine bay. i'm not a wire tuck kinda guy, but i think the turbo stuff makes it hard to work in there. i'm all for a good cheap turbo set up. i've seen them makes tons of hp

word. don't waste the cash for b-series again (since you had one in your hatch i believe). Build the D and rock a supercharger. A friend of mine had a crx with a built d16z6 jrsc and 8psi pulley that he was throwing like down like 200hp in.
he has since gone turbo tho because the engine is built to the gills and the s/c wasn't gunna giving him the power he wanted.

theres only one answer in my mind. first and foremost before im any kind of EF expert, i build motors. so, im going to say a prperly built b20vtec. im sure you have the know how, maybe you need a shove in the right direction.
omnipower itbs will hit the market around tax return time. if not sonner. ill be running a 1.9L B on itbs in mine. the K is a little too pricey right now for this car, and i will still make at LEAST 10 more HP than a turbo a6. take your time, buy it peice by piece. if you love your car like youve led us to belive, you dont wanna just slap a turbo on a 90horse motor and call it a day. get a nice front x-member to clear a big tube header while youre at it. ill have pics of what im describing up in 3 months or so.
if youre dead set on a D, sleeve it, bore it to 81mm, and carb it. or, just talk to bisi ezerioha.
can someone post a picture, if it exists, of a stock crx with the mugen rear spoiler? i think that would look so much better IMO

That's basically what I'm doing. I thought about going JRSC for a while, but decided on a simple turbo setup instead.
It will be just a basic T3 (.42/.48) setup, internal wastegate etc... nothing too outrageous. After looking for superchargers and adding up the total cost of JRSC vs. simple turbo setup, I decided to go with the turbo.
If you use quality parts then reliability will not be an issue. It's just people buy cheap turbos and other components and then complain when they have problems.
Anyways. I decided to go turbo. I loved my last turbo setup, and I'm sure I will love this one, nothing beats boost

I dunno about that man. Love for your CRX doesn't automatically mean throwing in a b-series, or slapping in huge displacement. I'm sure you saw my brother's single cam CRX at CRXpo (the one with the Bisi header.) He's rocking an N/A A6. . .and you can't tell me he doesn't love his CRX!

well i dont exactly see putting a B series motor, which is what these cars were originally designed around as disgracing a CRX. yea, an H22, is blasphemy.
