1989Civicsi - what will I need for the update? I know i would have needed the manifold, but that will be replaced by the SC manifold, so that part will be done. 99Si ECU would be helpful, 2 O2's? Anything engine wise that I will need to tap and add sensors?</TD></TR></TABLE>
To be completely honest with you, I'm not too well versed in OBD2 emissions equipment. Hell, I'm not even sure if it'd be worth it (more tuning options with OBD1/less headache?). Hopefully someone else can chime in with what's required.

oops, misread the previous convition, stef's right, that is considered probable cause, within reasonable passage of time. Other words, if you kept a clean record, you should not continue to be hassled on it 6 years from now, but it is officer's discretion in most cases, so ...

Oh I had plenty to hide. It was gonna be my second offense of possession. I would of at least lost my license for 6mo again, and went to jail for a month. I had weed, and a pipe in the car. Except I have not a cat or a charcoal canister in any of my cars.

Dangit. I'm not too worried about further tuning potential, as the B with the SC smog legal would keep me happy. legal being the key word.

im pretty sure in cali all they need is probable cause(which your drug-related prior would qualify as)...i understand it sucks but everyone i know with similar priors has had to deal with a certain amount of harassment from cops</TD></TR></TABLE>
That's not probable cause here. They have to smell, see, or hear something. A past record is just the past.

IF you have a K, buy K Pro. If you have a B,D,H,F, then do a chipped OBD1 ECU, and use a DIY program to edit it. Those are really the only good choices. Then again I live in Ohio so, I don't know how smog works. I know there are many ways around it though.

yeah they are, but if i can have the whole shebang legal, BAR'd and running, it'd feel pretty good.
I'm not in a rush to get things completed, just want to make sure I am not doing things twice.

If I could get away with that, I'd love it, but no, CA is needlessly complicated on that point.
EDIT: And Folgers, I have to admit, that avatar is a bit disturbing, I see an image of some guy pissing in my morning coffee.

you can probably convert to obd2 and run apexi power fc.

RSZ: Its simply not worth it to go obd2b. Early obd2a (like '97) is a different story and is much easier. Ref the b16 stock and add what u want.
CRXbart: Cops in general arent stupid. If you've got a prior for drugs, then chances are you'll have some on you if/when a cop comes into contact w/ you (generally it seems people never learn). Turns out the cop was right! Dont blame your stupidity on the cop. He's doing his job any way he can. You are being sneaky, and at the same time u get pissed off at him for doing the same? LOL.

Anybody commute by bicycle? I just got into road biking/bought my first real roadbike (Felt F75)...after racing my roommate to school I couldn't say no, lol. 15 mins by car in the morning traffic, 8 mins by road bike just cruising along.

Given your prior, the officer had "reason to believe," not exactly "probable cause." He knew that perfectly well, which is why he asked to perform the search. When you denied his request, he pushed the issue by bluffing on the K9 unit. Many people would have fallen for his bluff and given permission for the search, which would validate his search and in turn cause any paraphernalia he might find to be permissible evidence against you.

I'm going to agree with you here. C'mon, Bart, you have a prior. On top of that, you HAVE NOT learned your lesson...which is evident by you having weed and a pipe in the car
I neither empathize or support your rants on cops.
