Guys, I have an issue. I'm running a civic half size mishimoto radiator and I'm also running A/C. When I run the a/c, after about 30 minutes of driving it will start to overheat. Anyone have this same setup or similar with no problems? I ran an oem half size, dual core radiator with a/c last summer with a stock LS and it never did it. I'm thinking that maybe its a bad fan or poor radiator design. But others have reported no problems when they dont have a condensor in the way.
Also, I installed my brand new engine harness today. I cut (carefully) off all the little rubber grommet/holder things and all the securing clips if anyone wants them. Also have the brand new injector clips from it. They are obd0. And the brand new thermo unit plugs with plenty of wiring on them to solder to your existing harness if yours is messed up. Just let me know
Anyone got some stock lug nuts they will sell to me? I want to put the center caps back on these 91 si wheels. (sold my slips the other night)

What about having a track only and a daily ef? I guess I should suck my own weenie...

No way, dude. That makes you extra cool. You don't have to suck anything you don't want to. I used to be extra cool too, but I had to sell the go-fast EF

Does the radiator fan run like it's supposed to? Does it get to a point where the fan is running all the time and the temp gage keeps creeping up?

yes and yes. I believe that the condenser may be getting so hot that it is heat soaking the radiator. I have a piece of aluminum sheet metal so I can make an air dam to direct air directly to the radiator while moving. Just have to find a machine shop that can bend it the way I need it. I made a scale model of it with paper and dimensions written on every aspect of it...so hopefully they can make what I need. If this doesnt fix the problem, I'll have to go to a full size radiator again. You dont think it might be an issue with head stud tq do you? I havent checked the tq on the studs since the first 500 miles and it seems to be consuming a little water. There is no water in the oil or vice versa though. This is a built 82mm B18b with a GE block guard btw.

I guess you could stop using your AC... that would fix it, haha. It gets hot as hell in SC!
I'm no engine guru, but I like your idea about checking the tq on the head. What can it hurt and what does it cost? Nothing, right?

I'm too tired to read most of anything here, but I've got a track buddy who runs a half-size radiator. He was having overheating problems so he thought..."air travels the path of least resistance." He built a "ducting" of sorts around the radiator with sheet metal so that the air would go directly onto the radiator.
Overheating problem solved.

Yea, Thats why I have a sheet of aluminum I'm gonna make into a type of duct.
I'm gonna retorque my head and try another fan and see how it goes.
on the plus side, since I put the new obd0 harness on, she runs better.

yea, but what is keeping the car from overheating while sitting still? I honestly think the best thing would be to go back to a full size radiator, which means I would have to weld the radiator mounts back on. Anyone got some laying around they don't need?
