Random vid of horrible chassis CRX destroying one of the best Japanese supercars on a road course below. Also Nick, I know where you can get one of those wings in the bay area.

basically it comes down to this knowledge....

you stated the ED/EF and DA chassis are inferior, but you brought up your friends DA. saying that he can hang with 300whp K swapped cars.

your statements are contradicting one another.

you saw my post, and wanted to argue. hope you had fun.

Is that implying that K's grind third. because I never have. Back when I had a B the **** *** tranny had third gear grinds regularly. Shity transmissions. It is all about the tripple cone synchros of the K trans...

Not quite. My friend's car is an inferior chassis with an inferior engine. I was saying that I don't advocate using an inferior chassis with a superior engine producing ~250whp because it wouldn't be the best at handling all of that power (Not to say that it couldn't or shouldn't, it just isn't practical when there are other chassis equipped to do it in stock form).

Why don't you ask Loi why he scrapped the 300whp K-DC as a road race car? Why do you think the UNDERPOWERED version was putting down equal or better lap times? A car must be BALANCED, and personally, I think it's hard to balance ~250whp in an inferior chassis. The reason my friend's inferior DA with 227whp could compete with a 300whp DC: BALANCE. I feel the same could happen with an underpowered B-Series ED vs. a K-Series ED, but that's just my thought.

Bottom line. I have not contradicted myself.

I thought I remember hearing that k's had them through out. I could be wrong. Simple and plain, K trans are allot newer, and less likely to be fucked up. Not like old B series crap. Then you got to spend money, and fix the trans instead of saving money, and making more power.

So why did Andy Pope destroy everyone else this country has to offer at the 2005 East vs West Honda Challenge battle in his golden egg? Why, if it is such a terrible chassis, then why did he win, and win with an incredible magin of victory all weekend long? No one was even close.

K Series Motors

by kent Douglas

K20a-JDM ITR and CTR both come in with 11.5:1 compression and 2 liters of displacement. The Type R motor is rated at 220hp at 8,000rpm and 152lb-ft at 7,000 rpm. Both of these motors have the same VTEC mechanism as the older B series motors but with the addition of VTC. It also has larger cams, higher compression and larger intake manifold than the Type S motor. This motor comes with a 6 speed transmission and LSD. The 6-speed manual transmission uses multiple synchronizing cones for all gears, including a triple-cone synchronizer in 1st and 2nd gears and a double-cone synchronizer in 3rd through 6th gears.

b and d trannies are actually great trannies if you push the clutch all the way in when you shift.

I agree about the ks being newer though and far less likely to get one that grinds

Who is Andy Pope? I know Andy Hope, but never heard of Andy Pope.

Whoever it was, he must have found a way to build a balanced car and drive the hell out of it. Plain and simple.

You act like criticism of a certain platform means I think it can't ever be successful, which is not what I'm saying.

This chassis seems to be doing fine. The owner knows a thing or two about Hondas.

Dr Charles chose this chassis, I guess it's strong enough for him.
