cheaper/easier to put a 1.8L in there. you already have the b16 trans and head.... much better in my opinion.

Get a 1.8 ls block, and use your pr3 pistons

basically i had a b16a from 2001 to 2003 , and i dont have the dyno sheet anymore
then i moved to b18 etch
i still have dynos from my b18 and b20 though

OF COURSE its bhp and not whp

total cost..
lets see
dc header- 300e
t/b used 150e
hondata-60e
pct cams-springs used-400e
custom exaust-decat pipe 300e
srd pulley-100e
flywheel-150e
rebuild parts -about 350e
labor about 500e

but the car was light , and could beat - or keep up with edm ek4 vti with b18c type-r swaps

of course u could get a stock b18c with the same money.. but i didnt do all that together..
but in about 2 years of ownership..
also back in 2001 u couldn find a b18c-r engine for less than 4500 euros, so it wasnt that easy
we also never had b18a/b motors here...

i just bought a gsr block in 2003, and added my pct cams in the p72 head , and was doing 13.5 @ 167km/h with seats and eveything , with radial tyres and 2.1 0-60ft
fairly well for our standars
and i had the ful spec ef with sunroof and stuff, not an even lighter dx lx b18swapped ef

VERY FINE CAR

been looking @ that but one major unsettled myth keeping going through my head as far as reliability because I still like driving the car back and forth to work sometimes.

more research needs to be done on my part first

If it's built well, its no less reliable than any other motor. Jerry's got tons of miles on his LS/V. He drives it from SD to LA all the time.

I built my own b16a, ive run 25psi of boost on a mid size turbo and ive put 15k miles on it. (everytime i drive, i beat the **** out of it) Its all about attention to detail and TUNING

WEeeeeeeee...... just came back from a spirited drive. it was fun to feel my rear sliding around on curves. still need to set ride height thou, getting understeer more then i should with the teins i have. reminds me of how fun rear wheel drive is. hey guys, do EF hatches do the same? (some natural tendency to have lift throttle oversteer) with stock sways and just aftermarket shocks, springs? (not referring to changing tire pressure or other factors)

Most people forget to change to a vtec oil pump waterpump also, hence some unreliability, but there is a thread in the NA forum on how to build a bulletproof LS-v.

It's sitting at my work right now, and there is a kid interested But, unless i get 1k out of it its not going anywhere. If he buys it, its whatever. I plan to get my hatchback on the road, move out continue on with school and buy another sedan in a year or so. I dont care if i have to go to cali to get it. My next one will be Just as clean, but i dont think anything will ever replace it.

i actually had a guy over at my house with an H2B. and after talking to him, i dont think its such a bad idea. he still is very competitive in the drag race circuit with his h2b against k series cars.

k mounts are $500-700. so $1000 for an adapter and a new flywheel isnt such a bad idea.

Yeah, after talking to some guys while I was up in the bay (a H-series guy and a LS guy), both have their pros/cons. Someone was telling me just throw a LS block in for 200 and boost it. Someone else was telling me to drop in a H2b and BAR it.

All I know is, cops in San Jose are cracking down hard on imports as of late, and a LSV would blacklist me if I ever got my hood popped .

Btw, what're the K-series guys in Cali doing about smog check points, etc. with a K swap? lol, I was going to ask Ryan one time when I checked out his CRX, but I forgot .

The Evolution H2B EF setup isnt looking to good from what I feel. I think its not going to be as practical as the EG and EK kits.
From what I feel from going over there and talking to them, its not going to be as simple as the other kits and as far as making it, its not going to be 100%. I maybe wrong though, but in the meantime, I already have my H motor getting built so I can drop it in my CRX. I have another stock h22 for use as a mock up that we'll make race mounts for the EF setup. I dont want to wait for a mount setup when we can fabricate it sometime this winter.
