Hmm IA is in Charlotte? When is that happening? I may as well try to make it while im living out here, when will I ever get the chance again lol
Thanks Dude... Loving your car man, looks great on the 10's.
If you dont mind me asking, what motor setup is in your car? I remember seeing something about you having cams and your toda belt being in bad shape a little while back maybe??? Lol.

I went with a 12lb chromoly since that's what Toda, JUN and Spoon did (but it's F1 brand) got an exedy combo for 245 shipped, eh
plus I already know what an 8lb feels like. If that rear T-bracket wasn't such a pita, sure I'll change a clutch. But right now the swearing and bleeding doesn't seem worth smoother clutch engagement and a marginal performance gain (suspecting so).

Motor set up is pretty mild:
JDM '98 Spec ITR
Toda B cams
Toda springs
Toda Ti retainers
Toda cam gears
Toda timing belt
Toda flywheel
Spoon high polished rocker arms
Spoon throttle body
Spoon 4-2-1 header
Spoon plug wires
AEM 3" Hybrid intake with v-stack
Mugen baffled oil pan
stock bottom end
CTR Trans w/ 4.7FD
ATS 1.5way clutch LSD
I'm keeping an eye on the timing belt as they're still getting chewed up yearly

sucks cuz the belts are $200+
Damn man sounds like a blast!!! Ive got a stock Jdm 98 Spec Itr swap with an intake/test pipe/cat back and S300... I love it, can only imagine it with some bigger cams and some more bolt-ons. Do you have any videos of it or know what kind of power it puts down?

For piece of mind, i feel that the kevlar belts may hold up a bit better considering the ramp angle of the Toda B cams. not a crazy high lift cam, but the ramp angle seems quite steep (old design?).
i'd hope that my kevlar belts last longer than an OEM would with my cams, even if the belt is 4x the cost
it might be ok, but i personally don't want to risk it on track use at 9000rpm.
motor is too expensive to have a t-belt snap on me and smack all the bits into metallic chunky soup
Mashimaro - I dont think you are the only one with the Toda timing belt problem a buddy of mine had a Toda go really early on him in his integra and it messed up the motor.
My friend also had a Toda belt go on his internally stock B18c1. Another friend had one on his B18c5 and it looked rough after a couple months if having it on. OEM FTW!
Car in front of me hit a tire today and it flew up and hit my car... took out my corner light, and messed the paint up on my fender and bumper. AWESOME!
OEM might not cut it with the high revs and thats why you go Toda but it seems odd that it can't handle normal abuse.
SHG_Dan (AllMotorDan) also has the same issues. He changes his often too as to not worry. Its a shame that you can't find a good timing belt, you would think the Toda would be good for the price and name :/
