Got my Ground Control extended top hats in the mail yesterday... installed! So nice to have shock travel once again!!! We had crazy fog all day in Michigan, as soon as I opened my garage the cars just got wet! Was nuts!

 

it was weird for sure....it never rained all day but everything was wet all day...as a matter of fact i spent the night breaking my coilovers down last night to get them all cleaned up for the teg....and i cleaned up the garage...it was weird that everything got wet without rain...

I know this isn't the tech section, but figured I'd ask here anyways.....

Sister was driving my car the other day (92 hatch with GSR motor and S4C mission) and she went to leave the bank and the car was really hard to get into gear. When it would go into gear she let out the clutch and the car would just die.

I would take a look myself, but I'm thousands of miles away for the next few months. I'd like her to have something to drive besides riding her motorcycle. Just trying to get an idea of what it could be. Slave cylinder?

I'd appreciate any info. Thanks!

 

Yeah I was pouring sweat... it was 54F in my garage yesterday, 89% humidity tho...

I am from Metro Detroit area.. I have followed your thread on xceed for a bit.

 

Yeah could be the slave cylinder. 20 dollars will get you a new one at Autozone and some brake fluid to bleed it. Mine went 2 years ago and what happens is the clutch pedal doesn't really build pressure so it's hard to go on gear and shift. Clutch also becomes sorta like ON/OFF and grabs at the very bottom of the floor. Could very well be it. Need some more info though. She could do it herself too.

 

It's literally two 12MM bolts, a 10MM tube nut to get the slave off the front of the trans. Some brake fluid, simple hand tools and a simple clear tube and container would be all she'd need to get the job done. I'd guess slave cylinder as Claudio said with clutch master cylinder a close second.

Yea could be the slave cylinder, the down pipe off of my turbo cooks them lol I know its going bad when the car is hard to get into gear. I new one and a fresh bleed fixes it.


I also had something similar happen a while back and my ACT clutch disc was shitting all of its springs into the bell housing. Car was hard to get into gear at times. That clutch sucked lol

 

Check where the master cylinder goes through the firewall on the interior side to see if its leaking. Pretty common part to fail on our cars. If its not the master will likely be the slave

 

That's what happened to mine. I pulled back the carpet and it looked like tar back there....

 

Going to go ahead and have both the master and slave replaced by my sister's husband in a couple days. Hopefully it fixes it, otherwise I guess the transmission is going to get removed.

 

I got a leaky master on my EG... put of changing it all summer... Time for the new part now! No clutch issues though for me yet.

Yup. So much quieter now, I love it, and the wife actually rides in the hatch once in a while. Although she commented tonight about needing a sports bra when she rides with me....lol.

 

I love my WS2. Only reason it will ever come off is if I go boosted and then I might just do an e-cutout instead of losing the WS2. That is a good problem to have sir! My wife said the same thing the last time she rode in my car. "This thing makes my ***** hurt"
