OEM mats are the best. I would definitely get a set of used mint mats.

Well heard initial word from ATP on the turbo today, they still have to dissect it but they said looks to be moisture in the turbine housing.
My guess is bad seals from the factory or manufacturing defect or it sat in their warehouse.

Well I removed the piece of dangling trim that I discovered hanging next to my pullies on the passenger side, and not only has it stopped the rubbing/scraping sound, it also seems to have cured the knock that I was hearing going from reverse to pulling away in first.

It's weird, the knocking definitely sounded like a solid but brief metal-on-metal "clunk" and not a flimsy plastic tap, so I don't quite know what has happened there...

Never mind, it appears to be sorted now. Thanks to those who offered sugestions

I've been following and reading this thread from the start for a few weeks now and it's about time that I post my car up. I finally got the rear coilover sleeves on it today so that it's actually picture worthy. I know that the paintjob isn't for everyone, but that wasn't done under my jurisdiction.

When I first got her:

Rear

I know, pretty bad huh?

First mod I did to the car (took it off my old car and installed it on this one)

Then she got some new shoes

And I finally got her sitting proper

And now my exhaust is about two inches off the ground...

as in the lil metal clip that goes around the cable? i haven't run that clip in years on any of my cable tranny cars and never have any problems. i probably have a clip here somewhere, but i honestly wouldn't have the first clue as to where to even start to look for it

leo- does it need a new core support? or just the top portion of it maybe? either way, it doesnt look too bad. worth the $500 to me

newcarscent- not a bad start. of course it'd look a lot better if it were all blue but hey, thats my opinion.

yeah that little metal clip that holds the cable into the trans. i havent been running it since i bought the car but now it keeps popping out, i may try to grease it up to see if it will help hold it in but im still trying to find a clip just incase because ive already picked up 1 speeding ticket and being a college kid working at a minimum wage job and cant afford another haha

yeah i know what you mean with not knowin how fast you're going. my dd civic speedo works when it wants to. im to the point where i just know what rpm i'm at in 5th gear for 45mph (the speed used on the roads i use the most) and just go by that. so far so good. pass cops many times since they are always at the same spot day after day. but as for cable tranny's, i've hardly ever had them pop back out. usually if they do, i put it back in and it stays in after that. maybe you're not pushing it far enough? or maybe its just worn out. idk. if i knew where my clip was, i'd send it to ya
