August 2005:

 

i have all new oem thermostat and fan switch in the motor now. i just bled the car for over 45 min 2 weeks ago and everything heated up fine without going over at all half the car was in the garage with no airflow. the fan came on after 35 min of running. i had the heat on too. my buddy had told me about the mugen caps just not working right in anything but an ek or dc2.

i got the cap from my brother who had bought a koyo half rad with this cap on it already. it was for an eg.

i havent really driven the car cause the center console is all taken apart right no and im gearing up for this storm. im about to put the car up on ramps just in case my basement/garage floods

Yes but just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. I've gotten plenty of bad thermostats, etc that were new.

Alright all my da people. I need your help. My car gets horrible gas mileage, she bogs and has a jumpy response in low rpm (less than 3200) and is having problems starting as well!

Now its got new plugs n wires, new fuel filter. Cleaned up the cap n rotor.

Ima try to clean the iacv today, but what else should I check?

 

Start off with a compression and leak down test.
Read the plugs, look up how to do so if you do not know, that color of the plugs will tell you a lot.
Could be the distributor itself too.

Now one more thing. I bought the car with a 98ls motor in it. The guy had a shop do the install, but I'm not sure as to whether its still the original obd or if its obd2. Someone told me to check the color of the plug for the distributor, either grey or beige. Is that true?

 

just look at the style of the plugs. if its 2 round ones, its obd0. if its a square and a rectangle, its obd1. if its one single square plug, its obd2. easiest way to tell.

not too bad my way. lots of wind n rain, but nothin more than a typical thunderstorm if you ask me. i slept through it all. but one of our joining counties lost of a lot of power from the storm. not sure what the details are that way yet
