Jesus, they were already going freeway speeds. The car isn't going to pull away like lightning, especially if the camera car is on the throttle at all. If you actually go on Youtube and watch the video, the description says:
"Camera car is the 452whp hpfarm EG hatch"
That's why it looks like the car is slow. I can't believe you guys were concluding that this thing was a K20A3 swap based on a freeway pull filmed OUTSIDE of the car. I at least assumed that it was an in-car video.

If you want to prove a point down the highway, you'll be in good shape from 3rd to 5th. Twisty roads? You'll need a bit more than just traction bars and better mounts. An extra gear case with a drive shaft going to the rear connecting to a diff with 2 axles powering the rear wheels sounds about right.
I agree that it's just too much, not pointless but too much. A fully prepped dedicated drag car with a purpose, different story. You really can't do much with 400 fwd horsepower on the street though unless you baby the crap out of the throttle for the first three gears probably.

LOL good point in your last sentence!
Sadly its for a B16

Buy it anyway, tape and dremmel can fix anything!
I need to buy a rebuild kit but am not sure exactly which one to purchase. Garrett doesn't have anything on their site. I don't want to purchase the wrong kit.

not in a street driven car. its completely true. in a fwd honda, that is daily driven it is pretty much useless to have more power than that. are you going to drive to kmart on slicks? no
people don't always build their cars to be "drag-oriented". Boostedjeff's hatch made 467whp in a gutted civic hatch. It was worthless to drive it in 1-2-3rd gears. Yeah on the highway he could outrun a 900cc bike but the rest of the time it was worthless.

What I am saying is there is technology like progressive boost controllers that can make that car the best of both worlds, why people don't utilize them on their "street cars" is beyond me........ They can still have all that HP but make it manageable to drive in low gears too.
Apples to Oranges, this is one of those arguments that is a matter of opinion. I guess its all relative to what you like and think.......
Speaking of too much HP, anyone talk to JJ recently?
last i knew he was finishing up his wire tuck and then was supposed to be putting the finishing touches on his engine and putting it back in the car. i should text him and see whats up. haven't heard from him in about a week or so...
