BUILT NOT BOUGHT!
Very nice. Im looking to make 250 with my setup. i'll aim higher when i start building the motor. Also my cousin bought me a boost gauge and its confirmed, im boosting 4psi.
With a boosted H you won't have any problems hitting your mark. One a side note...There is not really a conservative tune. Either the tuner knows what he is doing or he doesn't. No tuner should/is going to tune your car to the edge of destruction if he is reputable. The only thing they could do is add fuel so your a/f's are fat and that will cause you to make less power. Just take it somewhere with a good reputation and you shouldn't have to worry about where you drive it to.
Hey dude, I would like to roll in you crew. I like the catch phrase BUILT NOT BOUGHT exactly whats on those minds who actually took the time money and talent on their babys. I have an 89 Honda CRX HF in which I got back in 2000 and it was just the shell. Now when I look at ZERO (my rex), I've created a beast with my time, money and talent

I sold her about a year ago now. pulled my seats, stereo, rims, retro fitted headlights, shift ****, and a couple others and sold her for $3500 local. My buddy is still driving her to this day, no problems.

Been pretty good so far. Kinda pissed but nothing i can really do in my situation..
As everyone can recall i got hired a week or so back, Prior to a drug test. Well i called them to see whats the hold up for me to start working.. Turns out i PASSED my drug test, HOWEVER when they did a background check my speeding tickets came back to haunt me.. I got 2 points on my driving record and they wanna review my app and see if they THINK im able to work with those points being on my record since the job is dealing with cars.. They said they will contact me within 7 days to give me a final answer.. This is day 1 and counting.. FML.

i have a quick question about the rules to this thread. why if when you bought your car it was completely stock, but you had shops do all the work, and all you did was pay them for it? for example someone pays a shop to do the swap for them? or got their suspension done at a shop? would that be considered bought or build? because it was built, but not by the owner, then it was actually bought. hopefully im not confusing anyone.

Its like saying a car was bought not built because got painted at a shop,or i got my tires installed at a shop so its not built.
i just got confused because on the rules, it says:
reason why i ask is because my brother's friend had a stock civic then paid a shop to do a b-series swap, lower it, installed some racing seats, and spoon mirrors. but this kid didn't even know how to change the oil on his car, barely knew how to check the level for that matter.
well installing tired would require a tire machine and balancing machine that would cost more than the car itself. also, painting the car takes a lot of money and having all the tools i.e. paint gun, paint booths, all the materials needed, it can get rather expensive, that's why most people takes that stuff to a shop(although i have seen people paint their car themselves and it comes out real nice). but a motor swap and suspension work takes minimal tools that aren't that expensive. i rarely ever hear people say," i have a tire mounting and balancing machine or i have a paint booth," unless they work at a shop of course or they are just really good. but i see people do motor swaps all the time in their basic garage with just the basic tools.
I think the point of this thread is having a car that was stock and making it your own. Paying for a swap don't mean its not bought cause you have the money to put in the car to do the swap. IMO it shouldn't matter how the car was built as long as you payed to get it the way you like it.

So if I buy a car and drop it off at a shop and say call me when it's finished being built then what did I even do?
that's exactly what im trying to get at. is this thread meant for those who built everything themselves? or those who had a shop do it for them? because anyone with money can have a shop do a swap/build for them, but very few can say, "I did it myself."
btw, i love this thread.
