Question two..

I have a 2 3/8s exhaust, with a resonator where my cat should be, and a huge behemoth of a weak *** exhaust where a normal muffler should be - 4" tip, I'm sure the muffler is ractive or something weak, so I obviously want to replace it..

Stock piping is 1.9" if I recall correctly, would it be a horrible idea swapping in a stock cat, and a stock muffler - as opposed to remaining cat-less and getting a stock muffler.. I want it to be quiet.. but I keep getting 1,000 dollar quotes for the entire exhaust, or 300 for the muffler / labour / random pipe bits, OEM..

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance !</TD></TR></TABLE>
i think anything over 2 1/4 piping you would be losing power, so im not sure bout reverting to stock might be the same outcome.... i would just for the fact of it being quiet.

i also have a big **** muffler and i hate the thing, its history when i get the dough to replace it.

on my DA I kept the stock header...high-flow cat, and 2 1/4 cat back, no resonator, to an oem style muffler that was 2 1/4 in and out and a single tip out the back...it wakes up above 5, but under that it purrs...then I let one of my friends go down the street and I could barely hear the exhaust note..sounded stock

you might be able to see it in the pics on the top of pg 15..if not here's one.

that would be ridiculously loud, and it says he's from around sf too...iono how he does it, i'd probably get pulled over just starting it in my driveway, cops around here will send anything to state ref for exhaust

car's registered in WA, i've never been pulled over for anything non-traffic. in fact i've only ever been pulled over for street racing in CA.

5% tint on the STi, get's no looks, exhaust on the Civic gets a look and a drive away, no front plates on all my cars are no big deal....out of state reg ftw.

dude i woulda told the cops that wanted to search yur car to suck a fat one. its happened a few times to me where i get pulled over late at night and the cop asks to look in the vehicle (search) and i say "im sorry officer but i refuse to submit to any and all unwarranted search of my person or personal property" thats the most technical way to invoke yur rights. if u go to speedlawyers.net they have all kinds of kewl **** for u to do when u get pulled over.
