why would you think that it wouldnt work? Greddy 18g, b16a, trying to run 8 psi, drops down to 5-6 by 7200ish. i dont know why. no vac leaks. so i was going to try to shorten the wastegate actuator arm and hoping that would help out and hold boost longer in the rpm range. but maybe it wont

I have a similar problem running a small wrx turbo on my car. It drops from 10psi straight down to 8psi after vtec engages. There are definintly no vac leaks either. The weird thing is that I have an external tial 38mm wastegate rather than a hard to control internal gate

could be your BOV. if not you could be leaning out check psi rating on BOV. my friend had some problem on his JTI until aftermarket diverter valve was installed

i know a bigger turbo will help, but then i'm going to have to get a new manifold, downpipe, get an egt bung put in the new downpipe, get 2 o2 bungs put in the new downpipe and then i have to get new oil lines and a new oil pan, and i will have to re route my ic piping most likely. so i'd like to make this turbo work for a while while its on the car. so i'm trying to find out why its not holding boost. other people can get it to hold 10psi till redline with no problems.
