what msd box to use on a boosted d series
i have a d16y8 turbo running about 7.5 to 9psi with wiseco 9:1 pistons,
v-afc hack dsm injectors(you know how that works)
I WANT to use an msd ignition setup, i have a blaster2 coil and distributor (extreme power cap?) what control box do i need to make this work?
do i need to worry about retarding the timing for boost, which will work best for the setup i am trying to run.

I wouldn't bother. Your ignition is perfectly fine for your current power levels. I would use the money to switch to Turboedit or Uberdata.
Edit- the hack sucks as far as what it does for your timing, but I mean your coil is fine as far as spark strength.

just for the sake of running an msd setup, and not worrying about using the money for something else, what box would it take to make a setup as unessisary(?) as this work?

Im not sure I understand your post, but here goes.
It depends on what your after, but I would probably go for the MSD 6 BTM, it will amplify your spark, and allow you to retard your timing in relation to PSI.
But like I said before, I don't recommend MSD products.

i checked out the 6 btm
i also checked out the digital sci but couldnt find out that much info on it, it can retard for nitrous but couldnt find out if it could work for boost,
the stock system is paobably in many ways alot better, im just really realy bent on wanting to use an msd system, i already have half the stuff, just unsure about the box like i said. is there any reason other than the stock system is good enough that i shouldnt use msd?

KISS- Keep It Simple, Stupid.
All of the cars I have owned that incorporated "piggyback" systems like this never ran well. The stock ignition is strong enough for more whp than most of us will ever make, and even then, all it really takes is a coil to get it up to par again. I have also heard of the MSD boxes, such as the 6al and what not, causing power loss, but I cannot confirm that.

If you decide to go MSD I'm selling a digital 6 plus box in great condition for $200 shipped. Heres the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1068418.

You need to invest some money and get uberdata. You can get msd 6 btm but that still is going to be half-assed job.

That pretty much sums it up.

I agree. I have the 6btm and the vafc with 550's.. total waste of cash. I am now saving up for uberdata. Spend you money on tuning. You will not be disappointed.
