What gains if I switch to an MSD 6A box?
I already have the ignition cut rev limiter and two step with my Haltech and I'm using an MSD coil with the Haltech as well, so the only advantage I see is the increase spark duration. What performance gains if any are to be had by my switching? Does the 6A box eliminate the Honda ignitor? Can I drive it directly with my Haltech?

There is not much to gain if your not blowing the flame out. It might clean it up a little if your stock ig is breaking down. It will replace the stock ignitor.

Youll gain from the increased spark. In high psi turbo cars this helps from blowing out the flame. And correct me if im wrong but the msd 6a box only eliminates the stock coil not the ignitor when used with a external coil. A dfi system will eliminate the ignitor, not sure on the haltech.

I had MSD 6a, it worked OK... you really gain low to, from multi-spark (better idle, cruse) but Crane HI-6 is a better unit. They all work. Some turbo kits give out MSD 6AL (?) so you can retard timing w/ boost.

Yea, they step up the voltage a little. But a real change in voltage comes from the external coil (you must remove and bypass the coil in the disributor). The MSD unit makes multiples of the spark below 3000 RPM. Other than that, I don't think it's really any better than stock, although it's supposed to be "more stable" to 10,000 RPM... but you are still using the same pick-up off of the distibutor, the same cap, the same coil, etc...
Yea, you are right, it's the "BTM" that does the retard, they make like 6 different models. Not trying to dis their products....

The crane HI-6 does the same thing, it's a CD style also (that's cpacitive discharge- a good thing) only it's easier to hook up.

actually, you still need a coil with the 6A. I was just curious to see if I could eliminate the Honda ignitor and drive the 6A directly. Anyone know the settings?
