I'm wondering about this for a couple reasons, but mostly I'm just trying to figure out an increase in exhaust size equivalent to giving the wastegate its own little dump tube.

if you have a bigger turbo and run pretty low boost A LOT of it comes out the wastegate. Open dump on setups like this give you lots more headroom, especially if you have a restrictive exhaust.

Yup, the mount of exhaust bypassed depends entirely on the engine size, turbo size, and boost level. It can range from A LOT, to nothing.

I wonder how you would even figure that out anyway..
I guess just for example say a gsr with top mount gt3076 at I don't know, 20 psi. Any idea how much of the exhaust would go through the wastegate?
p.s. Tony1, did you see my post on the remote mount turbo thread about wastegate priority vs turbo priority?
