Default Wastegate on t25 pressure or vacum?

Just like the topic says, does the wastegate on a t25 dsm turbo use pressure or vacum to open it up? I have mine ran from the nipple on the compressor housing and its not opening. Do I have it wrong? Should I run it to a vacum source such as my FPR line? Help please, 15 lbs on stock motor sucks lol.
Nick

p.s. no I'm not boosting 15 lbs all the time but the first time I took her out for a drive I hit full throttle and nailed 15 lbs. Sorta scary lol.

I dont mean to be a dick but do you understand how a wastegate works? Also, are you using the stock turbo and wastegate from a 2nd gen eclipse? I believe those things are set to run at 14-15 psi. btw, wastegate gets hooked up to any pressure source. You can run it to the fpr line if you want, you'll get the same results.

Actually, it'll be worse. Pressure in the manifold is going to be less than it is right there at the compressor housing. Set up the way you've done it, the waste gate ought to begin cracking open at less than 5 psi. Sounds like something is sticking...

Yeah if you want to get technical then you are right. It just sounded to me like he was concerned about whether it was hooked up in the right spot and if changing it to another source would magically make it go down to 6 psi or whatever, i just meant that either way, the wastegate will work. I never messed with a stock eclipse turbo but I always thought those things ran 14 psi. I could be wrong but if thats the case, hes not gonna be able to get it any lower unless the actuator is adjustable.

Yeah I know how a wastegate works and the 2nd gen is supposed to open at 8 psi, but the wastegate isn't moving at all. It never opens up and if I'd let it it would boost till the motor blows! I was just making sure that I had it hooked up right which means the wastegate is messed up.

Sorry I missed your post in the last thread but I figured people weren't reading it cause it had "ohio peeps" in the title. So I guess since its not opening from the compressor nipple then I have it hooked up right but the wastegate isn't working. ****.

some how hook up gauge in the line to the wastegate and run the line to a bicycle pump then pump it up and watch the gauge to see if the wastegate opens and how much pressure it takes

um what? this is your first post? you really should look into walking off a very tall cliff.

15psi is 15psi, doesnt matter whether its a t25 or a gt47, its the cfm that differs. if you're running 15psi @ the compressor outlet and the ecu is only seeing 9, either your intercooler is full of ****, or whatever is sending pressure to the ecu is bad.
