Default V-Band For I/C Piping

Would it be safe to run no couplers but instead fabricate the piping and intercooler in/out to accomidate (sp) v-band clamps? I was thinking this would make for a very clean look and less chance of charge pipe blowing off at the track. Also would it hold boost (i don't know how tight they fit the piping together).

wiggens clamps. you need a o-ring seal in between for sure.

i know Z10engineering makes something like this also. however they've went missing for the moment.

V-bands don't allow any flex. Wiggins clamps do, but they're also about $200 each for intercooler piping size ones. Just weld sections if you're that concerned. I have two pieces of tubing and 4 silicone couplers on mine, its kind of a bitch to take the piping out, but theres really no reason too anyways.
