Default Turbonetics T61

A freind of mine wants to try this out.
Does any of the Turbo experts know if this compressor wheel from this turbo (Turbonetics t61 part number 30423) will work on a non ballbearing turbo....?

What power will this compressor wheel make with a to4e housing and a .58 exhaust housing with a p trim wheel....?

Also when will it hit full boost on a 2.0l 16v with a compression ration of 9.0:1 ...?

Thanks any advice will be greatly apreciated.

that is a great high horspower compressor wheel.

with the .59 and the P wheel (guessing .69 trim?) it can make @550whp.
Move up to a .70 hosing and they have made @630whp on larger engines (2jzgte).

it should build around 14psi at 5000-5500rpms in the .59

it does not need to be on a ball bearing CHRA.

I recomend running a S series cover as it is better matched to the wheel it self.
The E series cover will however work.

The downpipe is 3 inch and the exhaust goes straight
i was thinking about using an ar 70 compressor cover but how will that affect boost response..? will the ptrim wheel fit in a .58 exhaust housing..?

Thanks for all your help.

Are you putting this together yourself? First of all, a T61 wheel is very large for a T04E housing... And definitely not recommended. I'd have to measure the diffuser section, but you're reducing that down to hardly anything with a 3.54" wheel. Why the small compressor housing? At the very least, use a 60-series housing with 4" inlet. Don't forget too that a T61 comp wheel might look good on paper, but if you're using it in different housings, the efficiency curves, surge/choke lines, pressure ratio limits, etc all change.

How much horsepower do you want to achieve?

I'm actualy going to go with the to4s housing. I want to make over 600 wheel horsepower.will the p trim exhaust wheel workin the .58 exhaust housing..?

Aslo whats the difference between the sc61 compressor wheel and the turbonetics t61 compressor wheel....?

Thanks

well i noticed your user name is dub20vt so im assuming you have a 20v 1.8t....
im also in that boat....
im running a 1845cc 20v setup with a ITS t61....
my goals are 500 whp but i dont see 550 or even 600wheel being a problem...
as for the 16v, who did the head work on the 16v? because our VW heads dont flow for **** like these honda boys.

just because someone with a honda makes 600wheel with this turbo doesnt mean we will...
but i figured to hell with it, ill give it a shot tho.

as for looking good on paper... im running a p-trim turbine in a modified .63a/r t3 turbine housing.
here is how i mapped it out based on a stage 5 t350 turbine wheel and a ballbearing centersection taken into consideration as well...
this just gives you an idea as to how it will build boost and where its at on the map... this isnt perfect but it gives me the "round-about" idea which was my objective.

and here she is mounted to the little tinny vw.

i almost forgot about this...
when i miced out my compressor wheel it was about 61mm inducer and 88.xmm exducer...

the SC61 uses a gt40 or gt35r compressor at 61mm inducer and 82mm exducer.
ive got that plotted out somewhere, because i ran the ITS version of the sc61 before i killed my stock motor at 507bhp... other wise known as the GTS61 or GT61s or GT61e depending on the cover.

Thanks for the advice and to responding to a fellow dubber

Well the 16v head has been flowed by a local engineering shop. They do a pretty good job of it.

Well the car will be capable of revving to 8000rpm. I just figured if it comes in at 4000 or even 4500 rpm it will still be a decent powerband.

currently i have a 16v setup but i'm waiting for my to save enoguh to get a management system that will support wasted spark. ahve the agu head and intake and everything else needed to convert to 20v.

The wheel you are using is it a turbonetics wheel...?

Do you think and sc61 will make 600 wheel hp with a to4s compressor and a stg5 exhaust with .63 housing..???

thanks again.

its the ITS compressor wheel but it should be damn close... like 60.9mm inducer and about 89mm exducer...
either which way its close.

So do you think a sc61 with a ar70 to4s with .63 hotside with a stage 5 76trim wheel ....make 600 whp...?
when does you turbo hit full boost..?

thanks
