Which Turbo setup would be better for me and why??
Here are two possible setups that I might be going with on my 94 GSR...I don't need crazy power goals..just want some reliable, fast spooling turbo that is great to drive...
1. a t3/t4 hybrid precision turbo, with a turbonetics wastegate with a 5 lb spring, florida performance manifold, hks blo-off vave, some sort of front mount intercoler dont really know the brand but its nice, custom down pipe, and custome piping for a gsr!
2. garrett super 60 turbo
greedy type s BLOV
turbonetics deltagate
johney race FMIC
2.5" eg intercooler piping
3" downpipe
b16\b18 turbo header
greddy spec b boost controller
greddy turbo timer
greddy e-manage with all harnesses and support tool
stewart warner gauges oil pressure, water temp, rpm gauge all digital
oil lines and fittings for any honda acura turbo setup
So which one should I get and why or I shouldn't get any of these two...give me some advice guys..thx

sorry this kind of irks me...
Are you refering to a true super 60? if so its probably to big for what you're asking for... and if its a t3 60 trim your refering to that is often called a "super 60" I think its too small on a 1.8. Thats what i ran on my SOHC and i still thought it was too small.
t3/t4 57trim .63 A/R and call it a day, there cheap and will give you what you want.
but don't take my word for it.... do some research.

This tubo won't spool up until mid-high 4K range. If you want something to spool up fast, get a gt2817ir X2 or whatever the turbo that is just above the disco potato GT28RS is called. Its pricey but WAY worth it.
I had the turbo unbannedevosol has and I switched the exhaust housing for a .48AR instead so it would spool up faster.
Most daily driven cars want a rather small turbo so they spool up faster, this is where you do most of your driving, in the low rpm range.

its good to get opinions from both ends of the spectrum. My opinion has always been... "whats waiting till 4000 or even 5500 for full spool on a honda setup? NA guys have to wait till 5000-6000 just to get a lil kick in the pants."
I second the .48 exhaust housing for a street car. Some say it is too small for the gsr engine and will run out of steam up top, but mine pulls to readline just fine.
Those setups sound good, but I would definitely look around. Time that you spend now will save you time and money in the end IMO. Good luck.

Lemme know if you can't find a good price on this. I can get you one pretty cheap.

dump the emanage and get a real engine management. They may be more expensive, but it IS WORTH IT. Motec, AEM EMS, Hondata, crome uberdata, anything but the emanage.
The .48 housing will not run out up top, my pulls crazy, and I have over 300whp. This smaller housing gives you much nicer lower end tourqe as well.
I wish I would have gotten this gt2871r, but ohwell.

yep, if you want a t3/t4 hybrid, you're going to want a .48 housing, since your power goals arent huge and you want a quick spool up.
lose the turbonetics deltagate and do yourself a favor and get a tial wastegate. the deltagates breakdown and leak. I havent heard too many great things about them. Also, keep in mind, while the gt2871r is a great turbo which minimal lag, its a ball bearing turbo. Ball bearings are more expensive, and if the turbo blows or an oil seal breaks, you're SOL bc to rebuild one, you have to buy a whole new center section, which will run you around $700.
Also, I personally would go with a gt28r over a gt28rs. the rs isnt worth the extra money, especially since its been proven that the gt28r pushes out the same power and spool up time as the rs.
