Turbo Setup SOHC
I'm piecing together a turbo for my 98 SOHC(d16y8) civic and it would be greatly appreciated if everyone would tell me what are good brands for every component i need for a turbo. i'm looking to install this all myself because i have experience on other work such as headers/intake/hiflow cat/exhaust/off road pipes/etc. Any help is appreciated. I'm willing to spend up to $4-5000 on everything needed from downpipes to guages. The whole setup, thanks a lot.
Also I'm looking for a tranny swap to manual for my car let me know if anyone has one for sale for cheap, thanks.

turbo - 100
manifold - 50-300 depends on what you want
downpipe - 200 custom made at a muffler shop
oil feed/return fittings - 200 for the GOOD **** , or about 75-100 for average stuff
piping - 100-200
blowoff valve - 50-200
intercooler - 40 bucks for a sidemount like me, or up to 300-400 for a blingin' front mount
vac. lines, bolts, gaskets, misc. **** you'll need - 50-200
fuel management - 50 bucks for a greddy blue box which WORKS WELL for what it is and makes good power on my setup...or 1200-1300 for a Hondata or AEM setup, tuned
boost - priceless
Oh and it's a D16y8!

Hell, if you want to spend 4-5k Id just get a pre-fab kit. No matter what experience you have with other types of car mechanics, turbos are a brand new ballgame. I thought by having done other things to my car I could handle all of the things that arose and the only way I got through it and got my car all done, was with the help of an ex helicopter mechanic for the Marines (my father). No matter what anyone says, I like my Greddy SOHC kit with Type 24 fmic.

I go to school in St. Paul, and live in the northern suburbs...that's all you'll get, since my car almost got stolen a month ago.

Haven't gotten a chance to dyno yet (my stock clutch is about to melt - thanks turbo!
), but at 7 psi, most guys with identical setups are making 170-175whp. I'll be tuning for 10 psi this spring, approximately 200whp-215whp depending on dyno conditions and other variables.
