After hours of thinking and research, i've decided to go with a SOHC turbo set-up. B series swap + turbo is too much money for what I can do with my SOHC buildup. I wanted to go N/A because I know most about N/A and not too much about FI turbo. This is where I need your help.
What do I need for my build up? I want to piece this turbo and have it by the summer. My Limit is $1500-$2000, this will be my weekend driver and i'm looking for 200WHP. This won't be my daily driver.

So what are things I need? i'm new to the whole FI thing. My goal is 200WHP with the limit of $1500-$2000. I've tried reading a bunch of turbo threads but I don't get what I don't know. Hope this thread can help me out with the basics and advances of turbo.

I looked up the GReddy SOHC kit, and it's listed for the civic EX w/vtec. I have a CX with no vtec.
My question is, does it matter and will it bolt up??? Would a vtec head have much of a difference with the turbo? Because I know Vtec raises compression

You will never hit your 200whp goal with that block, and have it last. The first step in achieving your goal would be to find a full D16Z6 swap.

Any D16. VTEC or not is irrelevant.

his name is EK_Egg so i'm assuming he has an ek hatch with a d16y7 which can easily withstand 200whp.

there are plenty of guys running 220whp on stock internals. the most important part is tuning. as for turbo size, i would recommend a t3 with 60 trim

Well, I read his post and assumed he has one of the weakest, lowest powered 1.5l engines available in a Civic. on me for not realizing he might have a '96+ when they actually started using 1.6s in the CX.

Slap an EX intake mani on that engine and it will be a capable performer with turbo.
