Default turbo problem

i have a boost gauge that has vaccuum gauge too. When the car is idling it is 20 h/g vaccuum, it slowly creeps up to 0 at about 3600 and gets to 5 psi of boost at about 4700-4800 rpms. is this normal to have so much vaccuum
my car is a 2000 civic ex with a d16z6 in it. its got a garrett t3/t04 57 trim .63 a/r, log manifold, tial 7psi 38mm wastegate etc.

i got it tuned and the dyno said i have 155whp and 127 torque.

that is very disappointing considering i have spent over $5000 on this thing, im only getting just over 5psi of boost even tho i have a 7psi wastegate, what can i do to make this thing make some more power?, i was looking fo about 200whp
minimum

also if i change the spring to a 10 psi, will i need another tune?

I'm not sure what would be causing that problem necessarily, but i'm not completely understanding you either. When you're idling, the 20 in/hg is fine, but the "slowly creeping to 0 ...." portion is where you lost me. Is that under hard throttle or just average driving.

With your setup and boost level, you should be making a lot more power than you are....there has to be some kind of problem. Do you have a dyno graph??

yeah i have a dyno but dont know how to post it here, the gauge is starting at 20 h/g and working its way up to 0 then goes to boost, i was thinking it should start at 0. sorry about not knowing a whole lot about this.

the gauge will start at 20 in/hg because at idle, the engine is in vacuum. During wide-open throttle, the manifold will read 0 because there is no pressure difference from outside the manifold to inside. The only engines that dont read vac at idle are diesels.

I have almost the exact same setup as you (d16y8) -- I'm making around 220WHP on ten psi. Make sure your external wastegate has that metallic ring in it.. It fits inside the wastegate to the dumptube -- that will affect performance a lot.

As for the boost only hitting 5psi, check for boost leaks, at vacuum sources, couplers on the intercooler piping, etc..

Do you have the graph of the boost log vs power created?? Its a fairly typical graph to have...

I'm going to assume his engine is stock...D series engines are safe stock in the 220-240whp range although many have gone further.
