Turbo-ing my 2000 Si
Ok, its a stock Si, and I want to turbo it. (duh) I'm a newb but I know some stuff about cars and how they run. I was wanting to buy a turbo kit that has a turbo that can run up to maybe *just an estimate* 16 psi. But I only want to run maybe 6 psi right now because I'm on stock internals. And I want a turbo that I can use for later if I decide I want to upgrade the internals. But for right now I think the 00 Si is *supposed* to be 160 hp. I was wanting to shoot for, hopefully, 250 hp with stock internals. BUT I'm not sure how much HP the stock engine can handle from a turbo. So will you all please help me. And YES I am willing to drop 4k on a full turbo set-up with intercooler. (And NO, I'm not rich.)

Do some research first.
Secondly, find someone who can weld. On the PeakBoost kits, the charge piping is a little long on the front. You have 2 choices. Have it shortened, or cut your bumper.
Again, great stuff I made the numbers in my sig with one of their kits, just little stuff you have to modify.

There are several pre-made kits that can easily make the power you want with the budget you have; however, i have always been in favor of building my own setups. Check the Marketplace after researching and you'll see how simple it really is to build a turbo setup yourself. Not only is it cheaper, but you'll learn a lot along the way.
As for your goals. Your stock block Si will handle ~300whp with a good tune...PSI is irrelevant therefore dont ever mention it again. The only concern you should have with PSI is whether or not you'll need a new MAP sensor...that's the only acceptable time to concern yourself with PSI. Having said that, read through the FAQ at the top of the forum. There are several great links in there that will answer a lot of the questions you may have. Its best to research for a good while before jumping into a turbo setup. Before i did my first setup at 18, i had researched for nearly 2 years. I'm a firm believer in having a good grasp at what you're getting into...especially if its your DD

you really need to do some research. i had a supercharged 2000 si a while back. the motor had stock internals. the setup was jackson racing supercharger, dc headers, apexi exhaust and comptech intake. the car pushed 200hp at 8lbs and was SMOG LEGAL. now i have a fully built gsr motor on a hatchback. i went with a full-race stage 2 kit (turbo 60-1). it dynoed 350 hp on 10lbs on 91 octane. you should look into a stage one kit with a ball bearing turbo (or a t3/t4 bushing turbo) for your setup. my 2 cents.

I have a boosted 99 EMI that did have 100% stock internals. I had a Precision SC34 with 440 injectors, MSD ignition, Slowmotion motorsport topmount manifold, and Hondata S500. Nothing special. Car ran like a champ! put down 298whp/210 wtrq on 9psi. Saw full boost by 4500rpms so I had plenty of funtime in the RPMS. I am debating keeping that turbo on fully built LSVTEC set up thats sitting in the garage...but I was VERY happy with that set up.
