Default Is it too big?

Hi there, can anyone tell me if this turbo will be too big for a H22 running 10psi?

Compressor

T04B Housing with 3" inlet, 71mm Wheel, 70 Trim, 0.70 A/R

Turbine

T3 Housing (3 bolt flange), 59mm Wheel, 68 Trim, 0.48 A/R

Cheers

what are your goals for the car? Is 10Psi all it will see? Daily driven?

I recommend using Desktop dyno. Fill in all the specs on your engine, then fill in compressor specs based on the compressor maps of several kinds of turbos. The compressor map has a huge effect on where torque will be made.

I found that I could make a lot more torque if I used a tiny GT17, but that isn't good since my suspension sucks too much to use it. It's all about what you want the engine to do for you.

Get the compression map for the turbo and go from there. Or call the company that builds it and tell them what your goals are for the car and your current setup and they should be able to tell you.

Thanks for the replys, I live in the UK and there are virtually no builders for honda here, we don't even have a darton supplier!
Nether the less im in the middle of my build and have Darton sleeves, JE pistons, Eagle rods, 450cc injectors, few other bits and soon to have Hondata.

I just wondered if it was too big for daily drive and if its gonna take ages to spool up?

I've done a lot of turbo sizing for H22's in the past because I used to own one. I can tell you right now that a T04B with a .48 a/r turbine is gonna be too small. It will spool up really quick but it will die in the upper RPM range and it wont be able to make a lot of power.

Look into a T04E compressor between 50-57 trim and a .63 a/r T3 turbine with a stage III wheel.

i run a slightly smaller compressor housing, but my turbine housing is the same, nearly the same turbo....12lbs by 3800rpm on a f22 havent done any 5th gear full pulls, but it makes power all the way through 4th gear, it will be great for a daily driven h22 but not a track driving one.

If you are running a stock block daily driven h22, I don't recommend taking it up to 10psi. Ringlands. Alrighty then.
