timing question
hi, i have a d15b7 that i am turboing. I am going to be running around 7psi. I don't have the msd boost/timing controler that retards the timing for every pound of boost. How should i set my timing?? thanks
The type of fuel management kind of determines the answer. If you have full control of the fuel and ignition maps via standalone, you can edit the ignition values in the boost section of the map. If you don't, and are maybe just running an fmu and 7 psi off the wastegate spring, set the distributor to 14 degrees BTDC. This will take out 2 degrees across the board. I would consider that totally safe.
93 octane, safc with dsm injectors. i was planing on setting the timing to 12-14 btdc...i know you have to turn the dist. but i haven't ever timed a honda before..just v8s manily lol. On hondas, where do you look for the tming marks and is 14 btdc marked on there?? thanks
