timing question

Default timing question

hi, i have a d15b7 that i am turboing. I am going to be running around 7psi. I don't have the msd boost/timing controler that retards the timing for every pound of boost. How should i set my timing?? thanks

by retarding the dizzy lol

If your gonna get the car tuned, your tuner will do it easily, depends on how much psi you wanna run and the octane of gas your gonna use

The type of fuel management kind of determines the answer. If you have full control of the fuel and ignition maps via standalone, you can edit the ignition values in the boost section of the map. If you don't, and are maybe just running an fmu and 7 psi off the wastegate spring, set the distributor to 14 degrees BTDC. This will take out 2 degrees across the board. I would consider that totally safe.

93 octane, safc with dsm injectors. i was planing on setting the timing to 12-14 btdc...i know you have to turn the dist. but i haven't ever timed a honda before..just v8s manily lol. On hondas, where do you look for the tming marks and is 14 btdc marked on there?? thanks

Off the top of my head, either the mark to the left or right of the center mark (16 degrees) is 14 degrees. It's late. I should be sleeping.
