timing and EGT's
how much will retarted the timing 5 degrees effect the EGT readings?
reason I ask is because on my old FMU set up and stock timing at 7psi id see 750degrees. If i was boosting and it ever went above 780 id let off immediatly. Now my EGT's climb to 810degrees immediatly and I guess im just a lil scared seeing that # and I want to make sure its ok.

Re: timing and EGT's (DIRep972)
I retarded my timing about 5 degrees and my egt's went up about 50-75 degrees higher. So I got close to 800 at full boost. this was running an 8:1 FMU w/ 310's.

Re: timing and EGT's (b18c5turbo)
isn't it the case that as egt's go up that cylinder temps go up, since it's letting some of the burn out before it's done? If so, then higher egts would be better for stock engines, to a point?
