Default Time to Build the block

Thanks to Damon, I got some rods, and I will be getting pistons from Ben very soon. I want to build my bottom end to handle 12-15 daily. I am going with JE 9:1 pistons, and got the Eagle Rods (all four). So what else should I get other than bigger injectors (550cc ?). Do I need a blockguard, I have heard mixed reviews. I really just need a list of what I should do when I open the engine up, so I can plan ahead and do it right the first time. For instance, should I spring for a port and polish, is it worth it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Here's my current setup, which put down 225 whp/ 183 ft. lb @ 10 psi.

Greddy Td05h-18G turbo kit
Type 31 intercooler
MSD SCI, blaster, and cap
Magnacore wires, NGK BKR7E plugs gapped to .40
Greddy Type S BOV
AEM FPR
AEM Fuel Rail
RC 440 injectors
Hondata Heatshield gasket
Hondata 2b with datalogging
Random Tech Cat, Greddy EVO exhaust
Greddy Turbo Timer, and Greddy Profec B
Fuel Pressure, A/F, Oil Pressure, and Boost gauges
Exedy Organic Clutch

Slicks needed badly

Might as well get one....importparts.com has JG ones for only $100.

While you're in there, I'd get some ARP head studs. When I help build motors, I'm always told to sand down sharp points in the pistons...helps get rid of hot spots when you're driving hard. I've had good results with it so far.

I guess that's it.

I would get a blockguard if I were you..
I use one in my own engine, and I boost anywhere between 14-18psi daily (depending on whether i'm racing on the road or not) and ever since the blockguard went in, the engine has become really reliable, I'm not breaking as many things anymore..

OK so, a blockguard, and ARP studs have been added to the list. Anything else?

what was involved in the install? Did you need the block machined after installing it?

I don't know if you got one already, but a larger fuel pump.

I was hoping that just getting the larger injectors would be sufficient. I know that the 99-00 Si pumps flow relatively well.

Are 550cc injectors large enough, or should I get the 720's? I hope to be around 300 whp at 15-17 psi.

Sorry kind of off topic but, what kind of 1/4 times do you run at 10psi?

I haven't been to the track yet, well not to race at least. I'm waiting till I finish everything first. Plus I need slicks badly. A good driver should be able to hit low 13's with slicks and some practice I would think.

Just to let you know, at 15-17psi, you'll be way over 300hp to the wheels.

550's are enough in my experience however some, if not most, people on here will tell you to get bigger ones.

I'm running 440's and I plan on making close to 400whp. It's all about the tuning.

those 440's are going to be past 80% duty at 400HP though.

Not the greatest idea.

even on my ZC, at 15psi my 440's would be past 80%.
