talk me out of it...
I know i wont have as much power, but im thinking about selling my turbo setup.
I only make about 160 bucks every 2 weeks so its kind of hard to support my addiction for boost. However i saved my money and every penny i earned since november of 2002, i bought turbo parts. Now its on and im not very satisfied. i want more. I havn't run my car yet, but im pissed that at 7 psi it doesn't feel very fast. Is there something wrong with my setup that is giving me bad results or just my failure to tune the engine?
setup:
max rev manifold
t3/to4e .63 exhaust .60 compressor, stage 3 wheel (full boost at ~3800)
max rev 2.5" downpipe
tial 35mm
greddy type S
spearco bar and plate 26x6x3" i/c
custom piping
dsm 450s
AFC set at about -40 up till 3500, then -38
7psi
i honestly think i'd have more fun if i bought a b16 head and threw in a healthy set of cams with some mild porting and a 3 angle valve job.
another thing that pisses me off is the fact i keep blowing up couplers. I'm waiting for my 90 degree silicon coupler from turbopiping.com but i doubt that with my diy piping setup it will be of the right dimensions.
oh well any thoughts about ways to improve my setup? or should i throw in the towel and go back to n/a for some arizona heat fun (ps, turbo + arizona 100 degree weather = slow)

forgot to tell you: my power also seems to drop off at about 6000 rpm, why?

Get it tuned... then decide whether or not to sell it.
at 7psi if it doesn't slam you back in your seat when boost hits there is something wrong.
I assume its an LS motor?

well i barely feel the 7 psi, mainly cuz i blow the 90 degree coupler right the hell off.
I need to get this thing tuned. It will be tuned *** soon as cheapass tegtuner gets the exhaust flange re-welded for me (right now i have an open DP).

keep it Ryan...you have a good looking oil feed line kit.. LOL
seriously, stick with it, solve the problem slowly one by one, and in the end it'll be worth all the wait. We all have similar issues at first, but it'll pay off in the end.
most ppl that got out is either by unfortunate situation or just don't have the patient. Don't be either one. I can tell you a gazzilion problems I experienced with all my previous setupsm but it's all worht the wait and headaches.
