Input for my turbo lude setup
ok heres what im wanting to do:
t3/t4e ball bearing with a 60 or 63 trim (which one???cant decide)
f-max open loop DP, manifold, and intercooler/piping
vafc hack
440s
colder plugs
profec B
tial wastegate
greddy bov
oh yeah, open downpipe, permenantly.
if this turns out how i think it should, it will be killer.... what do you think?

open dp is fun
oh i know the h22 wont hold at high boost, i would probably leave it at 7psi permenantly
the e series turbo will fit if i put in a t3 flange in between the manifold, and just get some longer screws
im keeping the ball bearing because it being a bigger ball bearing, i figure that the ball bearing will compensate for the little bit longer lag, and that the open downpipe will nearly eliminate the lag..... that way, its a nice low end and top end with the e series..... get my drift?
i think a guy on prelude online did this setup once before....

you better get a boost controller that leaves the wastegate closed until it reachs full boost
there is no such thing as a big turbo that spools fast, and an open downpipe does not neccesarily mean it will help reduce lag

well its not a t60
think about it, an e series, ball bearing, and open downpipe. two things that greatly reduce lag. on a bigger than average turbo, on a 2.2
maybe im wrong....?

no, you are most likely right, but i'm just saying that you can do to much to reduce lag, which actually doesn't reduce lag...... i know that doesn't make much sense but the more you think about it, the more snese it will end up making
read boosted97lude's signature. it explains him perfect.
setup sounds nice though, need some other type of management though, but i can't say much, i have the v-afc hack too...why such a large turbo for such little psi? that thign will lag quiet a bit for only 7 psi.

i see where youre coming from, but im for maxing my performance without maxing out my engine.... thats why im doing open loop, open dp, and ball bearing.... thats why i dont think there will be too much lag with the e series
i talked to the guy on prelude online that had this setup and he made 254hp, that includes the vafc hack that he was using. its actually a good fuel setup, just white trash.
