Default Supercharger

Ok, I am kinda ignorant when it comes to supercharges...i know the basics stuff about it, for example it is belt driven and it is forced induction etc...but what i don't know it how to build the motor for it...I know with turbos the most important thing is fuel then robs and pistons and then sleeving the block, but how do you build a motor for supercharging? Is it similar to turboing? Is low compression better or high? Thanks

well it depends on how much boost you plan on running. if you're keeping it below 10psi there's really no need to upgrade pistons/rods/sleeves. this is true for turbo as well. if you plan on running more boost, complications arise such as spinning the blower too fast. are you talking about the jackson racing unit? if so, the eaton blower doest work so well above 12psi. as far as compression is concerned, in my opinion, it would make most sense to have a high compression motor so that you can keep the boost down. unless you find a way to intercool your setup, the air temp will rise tremendously as the boost rises. however, if you raise the compression of a stock motor, keep in mind that precise tuning is required and often higher octane gasoline as well.

you have the basic idea. If it's Forced inducted, it's Force inducted. Still forcing Air into the cylinders. At low boost there is no need for upgrading internals, but if you want to go high Upgrades may be necessary for internals.

one thing to note too, is you will get away with a higher static compression ratio (of course depending on how much boost you plan to run) with a turbocharger setup vs. a supercharger setup becaues of an intercooler, of course when you have a supercharger intercooler that helps that

thats a good point that i forgot hot air is your enemy
