Default stupid....MAP sensor....problems inside

ok here is the deal

i have a built motor..i'm runnin hondata s200wboost rc 750's and a GM 3bar map sensor

ok so a few months back i bring my car in to get a final tuned....after like a half a pass my tuner "JOE@LOCASH" notice's that my ecu is not seein boost but is readin vacumm bad....i'm like wtf...everything is brand new..and has been working for about 2months...nothing changed....their was no loose connections or anything...just a bad GM 3bar map sensor.....actually it's a SVE map sensor...well i replaced the sensor with the stock one so i could drive it home...and it was fine...so the next day i called "lightning motorsports" where i got the sensor from and they totally took care of me...a week later i was back at LOCASH'S with the new sensor...got the tune done...pulled 350whp out at 15psi...was happy as heck

well the other morning i decided to do some datalogging and what do you know my ecu is not seeing boost ....at all....it doestn't matter what gear or what psi i was running...nothing ...it only shows vacuum....WTF...i cranked the boost up..to 18psi...just to see....i got it to show 2.8psi for about a second....i checked the whole car over...not a single leak anywhere...even tired moving the map sensor ....no luck.....

so now my car is down again......so has any body seen this problem before...and how and why is this happening.....and the same exact problem happened now 2 times.....so should i just replace this sensor with another SVE gm 3bar map....or should i try another maybe more reliable sensor???\

please lemma know if you have any ??????'s

here is a pic of my motor bay ....the MAP sensor is mounted on the firewall directely of the GE vacuum mani...as u can see....and trust me their is no leaks any where....thx ahead of time for ur help/time....

PEACE

you need to try mounting it upright with the orange pigtail facing down..and make sure the vacuum for the map has an area away from the other vacuums so it gets a good reading

so ur saying because of the way it's mounted...that's why it keeps breaking???

can anyone else vouch.....i have seen a ton of setups just like this....same map sensor...same vacuum mani...i even have nice SS lines....they really dont flex....i have a Vacuum/boost gauge running off the same source...and it reads perfect

i appericate the advice....just need a little more..before i start changin things

just make it sit upright and buy a gm 3 bar from a honda tech sponsor..its worth a shot, very easy to change the way its mounted

i did buy it from a sponser...."lightning motorsports".....it's listed as a SVE 3bar map sensor.....but it is a exact gm 3bar map

i will try what you said....i'm just stuck...because i have seen so many setups...with the map sensor...mounted in the exact same spot...with the same vacuum mani's

what gets me is i have no warning what so ever....who know...i could be just drivin and bam.....some crazy lean a/f...or messed up timing...becuase me ECU thinks im in vacuum when i'm boostin 15psi.....and this has happen 2 times to me already.....do i really have to plug in my laptop everyday and check???

try to keep the vacuum for the 3 bar away from anything other sources of vacuum so it gets a good reading...if uve got it spliced then i would change that

I'm pretty sure you have vaccuum leak somewhere...double check everything...especially around the IC pipings. If you have a bad map sensor...your vaccuum will go out of wack. The reading for vaccuum at idle should be around 20-25psi.

i know its the sensor..becuase it did this 3months ago...it reads vacuum perfect.....just not boost......i'm gonna try...and find a leak....

i doubt it thou...i have all SS line for my vacuum lines

I have never had this problem, but I have heard of 3bars going bad.

I would double check all the wiring
