i enjoy the car too much to just toss it, but i have debated on fixing this setup and putting my efforts towards buying a firebird with a LS1 and building a car that is actually capable of putting down power with much less funds lol cam and head swap on a LS1 and id be running easy 12's

Yea it took almost nothing to make 600whp out of our c6 z06s ls7... granted we did a lot of custom stuff to the motor but its still heads, cam, c6r timing kit, lifters, pushrods, shaft mount rockers, fast lsx 102 intake manifold, 102 billet tb, halltech carbon intake, american racing headers, kooks catted x pipe, Akrapovic titanium exhaust, zr1 twin plate with lightened factory flywheel, rpm stage 5 trans, ported stock oil pan (by me yay) katech oil pump, anti dampener, bigger dry sump tank, katech tensioner, billet catch can, etc.
Tuned on hptuners on 93... a little over kill but that's just the motor, the whole car has been gone through.. its a street car still but its track prepped as we have a membership to Atlanta motorsports park and road Atlanta. Car is so much fun to drive

I've never heard of Gatorback belts, but now I'll know to stay away from them in the future. Hopefully nothing was rubbing up against it to cause it fail prematurely. Hopefully there isn't major damage in that head as well. Good luck!

Gatorback belts are made by Goodyear, or at least branded as so. Typically they are quality belts, all belts fail from time to time. From what I understand Gates is the manufacturer of the OEM Honda belts.

Well I have good news and bad news, the good news is, by some ****** miracle, not a single valve or piston was damaged when the belt broke. The bad news is, i have some very unusual cylinder wall wear, which leads me to believe i may have broken piston rings for some reason.

I dont think the skirt seized because the mark goes all the way to to top (like the ring). Where p2w contact would start low at the base of the skirt. If the skirts did eat the wall then those pistons are trashed.

Makes me sad to see it go, i had alot of good times with it, despite it never being all that crazy fast. Now with this issue with the cylinder wear, i gotta pull the block again and deglaze the cylinders and re-ring it. It will be back though, better then ever. I don't have the money anymore to keep fighting to get to where I want to be, not with these set backs.
