Honestly, giving up on this does make me feel as though i've failed miserably with this build. But at some point reason needs to take over and move me forward. Im not giving up on the motor itself, but I need to take a break from dumping loads of cash into this, ive literally dumped thousands into this car aimlessly since 2009.

Good luck with plan b anyway. I hope it works out for you this time around.

talk about f'ed in the a, all this time i was expecting to see issues with rings, and i pop out #1 (bearings looked brand new btw, thank god for something at least) and find ****** horrific skirt wear on the intake side. As far as I can tell something is wrong with the bore, must be out of round or something. Only thing I can assume is that this happened at the machine shop, i have uneven skirt wear across all 4 cylinders, #4 which appears to have barely anything, and barely anything on the exhaust side. Only a very fine line on the lower part of the cylinder.

Is it just the two pistons? The one doesnt look bad at all. At worse maybe replace the bad piston. I dont know if you could reuse if you moly coated the skirts, or if it would even be cost effective vs buying a single piston.

Definitely shouldn't have that issue at .004
Unless the machine shop fucked it up and the bore tapers, out of round, etc... unless you had uneven fuel delivery causing super high egts, causing the pistons to over expand

its all kinda contradictory to what im seeing, if that was the case, it would be hottest on #3 would it not? as #1 which is the worst is right in front of the water pump?
