3000rpm street stall max converter custom built from precision of new hampton
If you haven't "built" the transmission, prepare yourself for premature failure. Say all you want, I have done a build mildly similar for my wife in the 90's... Good luck.
I was rather impressed upon my tuning trip up to NJ when i saw this..
Rob is a good , close friend of mine and I can honestly say if there's someone that has research until he's blue in the face, its him. Even his little stock 1.8 LS motor is pretty strong.. When i got there he was only trapping 88-89mph. After Tuning on eCtune and testing some stuff out at the track, we got him trapping 94mph only on 7lbs.. with IATs well over 170+.. The meth is still in testing stage, but with high boost, and how well this motor is built and going to be tuned, i dont see why 250+ through the tranny would be any problem...hopefully down the line he can build the tranny to take more power.. but we'll see how it does.. I'm expecting a impressive torque monster.
He's doing an auto to be different, although alot of friends including myself and Keon make fun of him, we all know he's doing what he loves.. I felt this car pull really , really well for just 7 lbs and just having a I/h/e..The car is impressive for what it is..

Its been 20k miles since i first stuck the supercharger kit on the bone stock 1.8 b18b. The trans, and the motor have over 200k now on them. When we initially started drag racing with the trans, I noticed immediately slippage afterwards. I changed the fluid, been running royal purple max atf since the beginning, and then the trans was fine afterwards. And it has been ever since. We abused the ever living **** out of this transmission for what seems to be almost 2 years now. Despite that fact Im still confident the new motor would tear it to shreds. My biggest concern out of all the things that can go wrong inside that trans, is the input shaft being just too small in size. Aside from that, being built like a manual trans works to its advantage in many ways.
and as you can see...traction is going to be an issue lol

In for this. Nice build so far
cool to see someone doing something with an auto trans.
You happen to have any in car videos with the previous setup?

Id like to point out, the N bombing only happened 4 times that weekend lol we were just dicking around, the new trans will have a trans brake switch of some sort. There is alot of planning still with the transmission going on.
btw, its a 5500rpm N bomb @5psi lol
