so what im askin what is it gonna do it u go over like 11lbs on stock map...make ur map sensor take a crap? im also runnin crome.
my setup 89 crx dx
built b16
t3/t4 57 trim

why?
OP, your stock map sensor can only read a max of ~11psi so when you are hitting 15psi your map is still reading 11psi. it doesnt know the difference. this can be bad because you are adding more power but the map is still adding the same amount of fuel and timing.
so basically you can add all the boost you want but you cant TUNE a stock map past 11psi

To give you the results of the above answers - it will run lean (if tuned at 11psi, not 15psi) and run too much timing (unless tuned very conservatively), resulting in DETONATION.
If you enjoy melting pistons and junking entire motors, keep boosting at 15psi on a 11psi tune.

Exactly, I was tuned for 10psi on a stock map sensor and was using a internal WG at the time and spiked to 15psi for about 5-8 seconds and I melted the crap out of my #3 piston(granted it was stock internals) but you should pick up a 3bar. In comparison to the cost of your build, its cheap insurance.

Re: somethings wrong hitting 15lbs on stock map (97_coupe)
thanks guys..
and i know what its like to [freak] up a motor i broke every ringlang on every piston before i built it and it lasted 3 days on stock internals
and i have a GM 3 bar sittin at home just havent installed it yet im gonna get it tuned at the beggining of next week to 15-18 lbs
also it wasnt throwing a cel

its not gonna throw a CEL. a stock ecu throws a code for positive pressure. chipped ecus eliminate that because they add positive pressure columns to the fuel and iginition maps.
like others said. if you want more boost, add a 3 bar and get it tuned
