SOHC Boosted Set ups! Chime IN...a place for the SINGLE SLAMS
Re: SOHC Boosted Set ups! Chime IN...a place for the SINGLE SLAMS
After almost 2 months of waiting, mhamrick on d-series.org has officially ****ed me over.
His "rebuild" lasted 1 day before the turbo's thrust bearing failed. He blamed it on me starving it of oil, I proved him wrong by pulling the drain and showing him how much flowed out at idle. He has a "6 month warranty" and requested that I send him the turbo to check it out.
2 days later, he said I needed to pay him a "disassembly fee" and return shipping to get my turbo back, even though he requested I ship it to him (at my cost). Now I'm out two turbos ($300), the rebuild fee ($200), and he's no longer responding to me contacting him.
I'm running an Ebay turbo for now, until I can find a decent t3/t4 50 trim and get a retune.

As its says on the top, I just bought this. So i didnt pick the number. It could go higher but you gotta stop somewhere. Im happy with power for now and its currently my DD so I dont wanna push it. Im building a very mild b18c now for another ek I have and want to make that my DD. So until then Im gonna leave it as it sits.

id check the oil often and plugs as well
dont be doing burnies around every turn and bouncing off the limiter like a boss and you should enjoy years of driving this car

The fully synthetic Rotella 5W-40 has been working great for years in my car. 1 gallon jug is more than enough and is under $25.

^ very nice, do you have a dyno chart? When do you see full boost with the 57 trim? I was going to get one, but people said it was laggy on D16 motors.

Hoping to get my motor back together asap. Rods are on back order :/ If all else fails, we have a set of crower rods bnib on the shelf, but they have the small bolt. seems a bit sketchy for what I want this year lol.

Nice pick up. I have been using one of those for my brothers civic. although it is the 57 trim. Easily makes over 400 on his b16.

Got a retune with the 50 trim

We decided not to push it since it's my DD and I am perfectly content with 310whp. Delivering sushi in this car is FUN!
