SOHC Boosted Set ups! Chime IN...a place for the SINGLE SLAMS

Right now it is on 22PSI and its fast enough for a street car, just not fast enough to compete at NSCRA (which I kind of want to do). Right now when the car is running right the turbo starts spooling around 3700 and hits peak boost around 5500 (when VTEC hits).

this is my homeboys car. bone stock d15b vtec with just arp headstuds, log mani, 60-1, 2.5 exhaust s2 intake manifold etc. 1st pull was 6psi and the graph shows it's final pull up to 225whp and 174ft lb of torque on 9psi. tuned via J.Mills @ DGperformance check them out!!!

nihad; your times are bad because your short game is ****!
60fts are terrible
im willing to bet you shift slow.
get the 60s down to the low 1.7's and start banging gears and you should be posting much better ET's

no actually i shifted pretty quick.. Its due to not warming up the MH's... I just did rolling burn outs.. ebrake wasnt working rear brakes were bad.. car would just pull forward..

all friday i was launching at 4-5k and doing rolling burn outs.. tire pressure helped lower the 60' and q/m but not enough i was at 8-9psi.. Last run i was able to manage a 1.88 but the car bogged in 2nd..

Sounds like you aren't launching hard enough, and aren't riding first out long enough. 4k is too low to launch. Are you using launch control or are you holding the rpms there?
Are you sure there's an issue with the rear brakes? And if there is, you should actually fix that first before you take it to the track again. But i'm willing to bet that you are letting the clutch out to early when you are starting the burnout, and the tires are hooking and pulling you forward. Bounce it off the limiter then let the clutch out.

No launch control just holding it i run it up to 5500 and drop to 4k.. i launch in between that.. I know i need more experiance... last run went from 1.963 to 1.88 with doing nothing to the car just a diff way of driving.. so i can see low 1.7.. Rear break is bad i never got smoke to come out from under slicks.. I wasnt preloading it with the ebrake i was preloading it with the clutch..

as for burnouts, 2nd gear, redline or 2step until it builds boost...then drop the clutch. it will do nice smokey burnouts even if you cant use the e-brake. if you cant use the ebrake, try doing your burnout closer to the water...instead of doing the burnout at the edge of the water box...try doing it at teh edge of the water. without using the ebrake your going to have to build some boost and get that wheel speed up FAST in order to get good heat in the tires.
sohc launches are very tricky because of the tendancy to bog. spin to win!!

you need to launch between 6-7k. you need to keep it in vtec and keep the rpms way up. slip the clutch and never let the rpms get below 5k. if that happens it WILL bog. keep the rpms up and ride out the limiter in 1st for a good 50ft or until the car speed catches up with the wheel speed, then shift. not doing that, will bog the car in 2nd gear.

with more practice that 1.963 turned in to a 1.88 and that would of eventually got to a 1.7/1.69

Here's my Speedfactory tune on 15psi
Last full pull we got was at 296whp, advanced the timing and the HG lifted so we didnt get a full pull. should be right at 300whp. ive replaced the HG i just need to get back in for a retune. trying to get to 400whp
