Also bought my ecu from him. Drove ~3 hours to get to tuner on highway, no problem. Only ran the ecu the day I was driving to tuner. I had a wideband on and noticed it began to lean out when vtec engaged. Wouldn't recommend full-throttle on basemap in addition to what other peeps said about no boost.

I would however recommend one of their basemap ecus.

its a basemap, its not meant to be driven on. Use it to get to your tuner and thats it. Although, If you have a decent tuner he will send you a basemap anways.

I've gotten two basemaps from John. First one started the car up fine. Second one wouldnt idle it. Through in one from another tuner and it was fine. Hes definitely a good guy though. I'm sure if i called him he would have fixed it, I just never bothered.

perfect. ^^

i wouldnt worry to much about driving it normal around town, its hard to ruin a motor with low rpm/load in town even on a terrible tune. unless you really wash out the cylinders or soemthing.

jsut make sure you are rompin it and it should daily drive just fine.

A wideband will be your best friend, I personally would not drive a boosted car without one

car blown up yet?

if u boost it, its going to blow. no question.

a basemap isnt a replacement for a tune. its a tool to get you to the DYNO, to get a tune.

end of thread and end of story.
